Crema's Take

Cafe 735 is a delightfully versatile Milwaukee gathering spot that transforms throughout the day—morning coffee and pastries give way to pizza and cocktails by night, making it equally perfect for a quick breakfast sandwich or a lingering evening with friends. The kitchen shines with thoughtful, flavorful food like their eggplant and tomato sandwich and white bean spread with naan, all reasonably priced and made with genuinely fresh ingredients like their standout fresh OJ. Whether you're stopping by with your laptop for a few hours or meeting community members at one of their frequent events, the warm, welcoming atmosphere and excellent service make this feel less like a coffee shop and more like the neighborhood haven locals clearly consider it to be.

Stopped in for lunch, had the eggplant and tomato sandwich with arugula, cheese, and a balsamic drizzle that side of slaw was also delicious. Well rounded sandwich with good flavor. The cafe itself is a cute industrial style, with plenty of seating. I have two recommendations, 1 would be to turn the music down slightly during morning/afternoon hours and bring it back up for dinner/bar hours. My 2nd note was the cafe had a haze to it, my guess is due to the kitchen cooking so maybe not enough ventilation?

haven cafe is such a... haven! coffee bevs and baked goods in the morning, pizza and boozy bevs at night, and so much else in between (including frequent and varied community events). the space and staff are just as awesome as their offerings (which include a bunch of vegan options!). i love coming here with friends for cocktails as much as i love bringing my laptop on my remote-work days. ily haven!

First time here. It was a cold morning, so I stopped in for a hot beverage and something to eat. Food: For not being a coffee shop, they have an extensive menu of hot and cold beverages. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender and a little vanilla, in a mug. The barista did a nice job and gave the tea a good long steep. It had excellent flavor, and the temperature was right (about 140°F). It would have been even better with a bit more foam on top. For bakery items, they had a big pile of large cookies (cowboy?), but not much else. The food menu is a little sparse but has some good options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It came out hot, with nicely grilled bread and savory meats inside. The roasted pork was especially tender and flavorful. It came with a small container of slaw, which was a little uninspiring. Service: The person who took my order and made my drink did a nice job. She took her time and did a good job with the drink. I appreciated that they delivered both the drink and the food to the table. She was a bit soft-spoken and a little hard to hear with the music playing. Efficient, but not especially outgoing. Atmosphere: The space has a bit of an industrial minimalist feel. High ceilings with the mechanicals in plain sight, along with colorful paint and design elements. Seating can accommodate groups of different sizes, though there aren’t too many spots ideal for couples. The space can be a bit echoey, and the volume of the music could make conversation challenging at times. It’s a nice spot for groups to hang out, and there was a larger table where people were working and collaborating. A decent spot for hanging out at lunch or later in the afternoon.

Love this spot! We had the white bean spread with naan, noodle salad, breakfast sandwich, and a few cocktails—absolutely delicious! The vibes are excellent. If you want coffee, a drink, food, or a comfortable and cool spot to read a book, Haven is the spot!

The food is great, vibe & service is awesome too. Probably one of the best quick breakfast sandwiches in this neighborhood. The fresh OJ is amazing too. So reasonably priced for the quality! Highly recommend. Can't wait to come back for cocktails sometime.
