Navis Cafe
56 Thames St, Portland, ME
Crema's Take
“Navis Cafe is a wonderfully relaxed neighborhood spot where the real star is the food rather than an expansive coffee menu—their lobster rolls are legendary for being generously packed, and reviewers rave about the quality ingredients and flavor across their sandwiches and fish & chips. It's the kind of place where families linger over unhurried meals in a chill atmosphere, with reasonable prices for Portland, though coffee enthusiasts might find the drink selection a bit limited if you're craving adventurous flavors beyond the classics.”
What to expect
Specialty coffee. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Love the vibes. food was ok. I ordered the breakfast burrito and, honestly, nothing special could have made it at home. but a few things could make this restaurant even better: self-serve water and utensils so customers aren’t waiting on staff who seemed pretty underwater…
A nice little stop. Be nice if the coffee options were a little greater....caramel latte, hot chocolate etc. Our Mocha latte was a little light on the mocha flavor so not sure if it was missed and it was just a normal latte. Cakes were good but a side plate would be nice…
Brought my family there for a bite to eat while waiting for the Polar Express Train. I rate quantity/quality/ vs price generally when I eat places and I can pack it away lol. I got the Anchor on sourdough which was very good and large. I got the same for my son. My Mother got…
Great, quiet, inexpensive and TASTY food, served in a very chillax atmosphere. We went in just after their lunch rush and I had a Moscow Mule and some delicious fish & chips. They have these funny igloos outside that I suppose might be fun for a small group or couple for…
The lobster rolls at Navis are spectacular! It's all we had here, but they were excellent. A single lobster roll is packed with so much lobster that it was a full meal for each of us; two members of our party couldn't even finish them. And they were delicioso!
For a "cafe" I was impressed with the food quality! Flavor and ingredients were wonderful. Prices are a bit high for the Cafe experience but in Portland - to be expected. Sandwich sizes are moderate, prices listed are for just a sandwich, no sides. Typical Portland Cafe vibe. …
