Crema's Take
“Kape Coffee is a hidden gem tucked inside Coppa Gelato where the team treats you like a regular from your first visit, creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that sets it apart from typical coffee shops. Their espresso-driven drinks showcase real creativity and flavor complexity—the kind that makes you forget about syrup-heavy chains—and their willingness to experiment with signature creations means you'll actually look forward to trying something new each time you visit.”

This space is in Coppa Gelato (gelato is not ready in the morning). I came at 10am on a Saturday. There were a handful of other customers in there with one table studying/working. By 11am, the dining space was filled. The space is a lot of natural light. There are 5 tables and 3 separate more comfortable sitting areas. There are a couple of outlets accessible. There are also some tables outside on the patio. Parking was accessible. I ordered a Black Sesame Latte with Oat Milk. It was delicious. You can taste the espresso along with the black sesame. I love the diverse (Asian fusion) offerings. Their matches are perfectly frothed and well balanced. I’m so happy that Westerville has this coffee shop and in a good location. It’s great taste, quality, location, and vibes. I went back a multiple times and still love this place. We got a pour over and an affogato. Both were great, especially the affogato. Their Buko Pandan Latte, Sweet Corn Latte, Hojicha latte, Ube Dalgona Latte, percinnamon matcha latte were all delicious. (Their Ube Dalgonas sell out like hot cakes!)
From the numerous coffee places I've been to, most of them use various coffee beans and syrup flavors to construct their drinks. These places feel repetitive and make coffee experiences less exciting. Kape coffee's Asian twist on caffeinated drinks is refreshing and the drinks are crafted beautifully and deliciously. The only thing about them that may be considered negative is that they do not have a set shop and rent space in different areas so they may end up out of reach. Regardless of the space, the areas are kept clean and the service is always quick and pleasant. This is a top Columbus coffee spot for me.
Kape has quickly become my go-to place, not just for the excellent coffee, but for the amazing staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The team is always friendly, upbeat, and genuinely personable. What really stands out is that they remember my name, it’s such a small thing, but it makes a big difference and shows how much they care about their customers. Highly recommended!
The creativity and flavors of this coffee shop are unlike anything I’ve had in the northern Columbus area and is certainly a welcome addition! The shop is a pop up instead of copa gelato but is deserving of their own shop! Can’t wait to see this place blossom and grow!
We drove up here on a Saturday, and easily found it within the Gelato shop, and such a cute aesthetic inside! The workers were all so friendly and even greeted my partner by name, only having met him professionally once, and introduced themselves to the rest of us, then walked us through the menu when we saw some options that were a lil different. Truly fantastic coffee and pastries, not to mention the tea they serve! Quickly suggested something even better when the latte is wanted was sold out! A must visit!
