Commonwealth Joe Coffee Roasters
520 12th St S Suite 150, Arlington, VA
Crema's Take
“Commonwealth Joe's bright, floral-filled space in Arlington is a serious espresso and pour-over destination where drinks like the Tidewater Sunrise pour-over shine with fruity, clean clarity. The baristas genuinely care about craft here—you'll find elevated cortados and creative seasonal offerings alongside their solid traditional drinks, though their signature berry blossom latte might lean sweeter than expected. It's perfect for a leisurely coffee date with friends or a quick grab before work, just know it can get cozy and lively rather than quiet.”

Berry blossom was a little sweet for my liking but solid service and aesthetics. Not a good choice for work bc small and so can get loud.
Great downtown DC spot. Big selection of coffee & pastries. No cash 💰establishment , be prepared to pay with card.
My wife and I had coffee with friends here on New Year’s eve. It’s been a while since I’ve been here, but the quality of coffee was still fabulous. I had original latte and my wife had latte with oat milk. I could taste that beans were very fresh and coffee was rich but not bitter. The milk foam was very soft and felt like cloud sticking on my lips. Coffees came out pretty quickly. Baristas let me know that my order was ready in person. No pager. Nothing extraordinary about the service but nothing bad either. Atmosphere is cozy and warm. I love that they have huge windows top to bottom so people can enjoy looking outside while having a cup of coffee. Space was limited but I could find a seat easily for my group. I would definitely come back here for coffee if I am in the area.
Bright and beautiful space! Awesome barista who crank out some tasty drinks too. Great spot to stop before heading in the office, or get a afternoon pick-me-up.... Or two if you waste no time like me. 😜 Their app makes it convenient to order ahead of time too. Love that they offer in-house cups. It adds to the coziness.
Beautiful space, excellent coffee. The Tidewater Sunrise pour-over is a standout—fruity, smooth, and clean. The cortado is also above average—balanced and satisfying. The floral-themed decor and high ceilings create a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. A lovely spot to enjoy quality coffee and relax. The bakery selection is quite limited though.
