Crema's Take
“Empire Café's sprawling backyard is Houston's best-kept brunch secret, offering abundant seating, natural light, and a genuinely welcoming vibe that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. The kitchen executes comforting breakfast and lunch staples—shakshuka, migas, pizza—at prices that feel almost too reasonable, and they're generous enough to pour a proper 16-ounce mimosa. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend hours working, reading, or lingering over food without feeling rushed.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Great place for large plates at very reasonable prices. I had the shakshuka and a mimosa with cranberry juice. My husband had the migas. Both dishes we very good and the mimosa was in a 16oz glass. The patio was nice and they had heaters for the colder weather. Recommended!
