Crema's Take
“This cozy Grand Rapids bistro excels at creative small plates and an impressively crafted drink program that goes well beyond the basics, with attentive servers who genuinely guide you toward standout dishes. The vibe strikes that perfect balance between upscale and approachable—ideal whether you're grabbing brunch before work, meeting friends for an evening of tapas, or settling in for a leisurely meal before catching a show nearby. With consistently thoughtful execution and a menu that surprises (think acorn dishes and inventive vegetarian options), it's earned its stellar reputation as a place where both the food and drinks feel intentional rather than routine.”

We had a great dinner at San Chez before attending a concert at VanAndel Arena. Super convenient spot just a couple of blocks from the venue. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Super friendly staff. Charming atmosphere. I look forward to going back and checking out more tapas!
We had a great tapas-style meal tonight! Our server made great suggestions, and we listened. Each dish was packed with unique flavor, and we enjoyed every bite 😁 I’d recommend this as a fun place to share a meal.
The tapas are always delicious here. We tried some tapas as well as brunch. One person had the vegetarian biscuits and gravy and enjoyed that, 2 others had the veggie and eggs, very good with the poblano and onion. The potatoes were great but the empanadas (breakfast) were room temp and would have tasted much better hot. I didn’t want to delay the rest of our group so I took them to go and heated them up at home. Personally I thought the chorizo would be better as a ground versus a sausage but that’s just preference.
Stopped in for dinner while visiting from out of town. They were debuting a new menu the night we came. We tried several of the new dishes. Everything was delicious but the acorn dish really stood out. The service was friendly and efficient as well. We really enjoyed our time here and would return!
First visit to Grand Rapids—impressed w service, drinks, and food here. Liked the atmosphere except music was a little bit loud. Loved their fresh salad w red grapes, blue cheese, and honey toasted cashews. My friend and I really loved the small plate dishes! All were great!
