The DIME
30 River Landing Dr, North Charleston, SC
Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused spot in North Charleston has carved out a genuinely inviting niche with its outdoor fireplace lounge that transforms a simple coffee run into a cozy retreat. The real magic happens when you connect with staff like Casey, whose genuine warmth and service excellence remind you why local coffee shops matter, paired with solid specialty drinks, pastries, and light bites that make lingering worthwhile. While consistency with hospitality seems to vary depending on who's behind the counter, the location near the park and river combined with thoughtful seating options inside and out makes it an easy place to settle in for a slow morning or grab something quick on your way.”

This is a great spot for coffee or a quick sandwich. The outdoor seating area with a fireplace is especially nice—really adds to the cozy vibe. One thing that could use improvement: all the milk options are sweetened except whole milk. There's no unsweetened one available, which is a bit disappointing. Some of my friends avoid it because a single drink can easily add 40–50g of sugar, and there's no real workaround—you can only add more sweetness with syrup or sweetener, not remove it. Offering an unsweetened milk option would make the place much more welcoming to a wider range of customers. Hope they consider adding it soon! Let's be healthy!
The Dime is a special little breakfast and luncheon eatery on Daniel Island. It’s well located near a park and the river. Plenty of inside and outside seating, but also offers take away. The food is fresh and fantastic! If you’re in the area it’ worth stopping in for a pork roll on an everything bagel
I love the location. I love the coffee. I love the food and Casey always has a big smile and always welcoming... she could teach a class on customer service. However your other staff is dry doesn't smile not attentive. I brought a client there and we ate our $50 breakfast outside 35 degrees. I asked that they light the fire. I was told no... but how about at least HEAT LAMPS. Then we all can eat outside in comfort at least... but they laughed when I walked away..... RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL. I work in customer service and that is definitely not acceptable
Was hoping Dime would match the cute decor and location, but it had an awful atmosphere. Said hello to cashier taking my order and she didn’t even smile back she immediately said what do you want while rolling her eyes. Food was fine but didn’t come out with everything we ordered. The whole atmosphere was quiet and rigid, you could tell other guests vibes felt the same way. I do not plan on returning
I usually don't leave negative reviews for places, but this place is deserving of it. I went in to grab a quick bite to go and ordered their Italian sub expecting it to be very good considering I spent $19 on it, which ended up being this slop. I cannot believe they are charging as much as they are for a sandwich that is one of the most mid things I have ever ate. Please do not go waste your money here and if you do then please do not get the italian sub.
