Crema's Take

This cozy Korean spot in Hamden has mastered the art of making everyone feel welcome, from curious first-timers to families with young kids eager to explore the menu. Their spicy miso ramen and bibimbap draw serious praise, but what really sets Donburiya apart is the thoughtful execution across their whole menu—perfectly textured tteokbokki, generously flavored Korean wings, and ramen that keeps people coming back claiming it's the best they've had. The owner and staff clearly take pride in getting the details right and helping guests navigate the offerings, making it the kind of place where you'll want to linger over lunch and plan your next visit.

Stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious. The Bibimbap beef was amazing they made it spicy just how I like it. The bulgogi rice bowl was also really tasty, and the ramen was great too. If you’re in Hamden and looking for good Japanese and Korean-style food, definitely swing by Donburiya Cafe and grab a bite. Highly recommend!

Just tried this place out for the first time, and I must say the food and owner were great! The Ddeokbokki was the perfect texture, and the Korean wings and crab Rangoons were awesome in flavor and texture as well! My absolute favorite was the Japanese curry though!. The sauce was amazing, and the crunch on the chicken cutlet was perfect! Over all great experience and I will be back!

Highly recommend! Everyone here is so friendly and ready to help with the menu if needed. I had the spicy miso ramen and it was the best ramen I’ve ever had. 10/10!!! If you’re in the area, this is a must try!

We stopped by for lunch. The food was very good. My kids (5 and 7) got the cheese kimbap and ramen to share. They loved it. We also ordered the bibimbap and that was great. Overall the food and service were great.

Pretty alright! The curry was great but I wish there were more. Veggies cooked perfectly. Staff was very kind! The katsu breading was delicious but for a $6 add on I wish the chicken wasn't so thin! The boba tea tasted kinda watery and they use the cheaper boba...
