Crema's Take

Tucked into Mt. Lebo, The Baked Bean is a charming neighborhood gem where creative signature drinks like the Yinzer (a strawberry pretzel coffee) and the Blue Devil are crafted with real skill and care by owners who clearly know their craft. Beyond the thoughtfully balanced coffee, their pastry selection is so tempting that customers find themselves leaving with way more treats than planned, all of them genuinely delicious. This is the kind of cozy spot that makes people genuinely emotional to have in their community.

Have come here two times already and both times the coffee tasted really good. The first time I got The Yinzer coffee which is a strawberry pretzel and the second time I got the blue devil which is probably my favorite one. Tasted delicious and had a great flavor and the pastries I got both times were delicious and love that I don’t have to go too far for this coffee shop and it’s a walkable distance. Looking forward to going back for more coffee.

The cutest little coffee shop & bakery in Mt. Lebo! I bought way too many treats (which were all delicious) and had the Yinzer (iced with oat milk) which was also amazing! The owners are two of the hardest working ladies on the planet and have truly created something special for the people of the south hills!! Go check them out!

Well it happened! A brand new coffee shop opened up 7 miles from my house! The grand opening of "The Baked Bean" was on Saturday, the Jan 24th! Welcome! The shop itself is right in the middle of the neighborhood in Mt Lebanon. Friends and I headed over in the morning and when we opened the doors, the line was wrapped around the inside of the shop as more patrons were coming in. Loved the aesthetic of the shop! Charming! Great atmosphere and vibes! As we wrapped around the space inside, that line just continued to grow. I am already spreading the word! Well done!

I was lucky enough to attend a friends-and-family event, and the coffee alone is worth the hype. Thoughtfully crafted drinks, beautifully balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing. The space is chic, the baked goods are elevated and tempting, and even in the middle of the rush the staff stayed warm, engaged, and on it. Everything felt easy, intentional, and genuinely well done. A welcome addition to the area.

I’m over here crying happy tears because our neighborhood got a coffee shop!!! 😍 visited on opening day and was highly impressed with the selection of pastries. We also ordered the iced dirty bird and iced blue devil - both were delicious. This is a brand new coffee shop, so it’s busy and there is a lot of excitement in the area. Please be patient and make sure you allocate yourself plenty of time. The staff is working super hard, is very friendly, and I’m confident they will work out any kinks along the way.
