Qahwa Coffee Bar
109 N Main St, Memphis, TN
Crema's Take
“Tucked into a quirky converted bank building complete with a repurposed safe as seating, Qahwa Coffee Bar brings Memphis a genuine taste of tradition with its slow-crafted Turkish coffee (worth the 20-minute wait) alongside creative specialty drinks like their beloved Mud Island Mocha. The vibe here is intentionally unhurried—a place where regulars linger over smooth, non-bitter coffees and fresh pastries in a charmingly dim, intimate space that feels more like visiting a friend's living room than grabbing a quick caffeine fix.”

Very nice! I ordered the mud island mocha iced with almond milk (kept the whipped cream). The coffee flavor is not robust, but it isn’t bitter which I loved. I cannot STAND bitter coffee, so Qahwa gets an A+ for a milder brew! I wish my drink was blended better as my first sip was 100% chocolate syrup that had settled at the bottom of the cup. The drink was mostly ice and I finished it quickly. Nice flavor! I believe the establishment was understaffed and they sold out of croissants and cinnamon rolls before I got there. Would definitely recommend over Starbucks or another chain!
3.5 stars Came for the Turkish coffee, but felt like they didn't want to make it, so we chose other things. Pastries were good. The place was quiet and a little dark (when we were there) several regulars popped in while we were there for conversation and items. We definitely felt like we were treated differently because we weren't regulars though.
Coffee and pastries in an old bank, they even left the safe and made it into a seating area! Funny and quirky owner ! Traditional Turkish coffee served here! (Takes 20 minutes) I got the Claridge house latte, it was delicious!
What a quaint, neat place. Stopped in here for lunch while downtown at work and had a great experience. The place is nice and clean and the service is fast and friendly. I had a strawberry and banana along with a turkey and cheese panini sandwich. Everything was very tasty and I can’t wait to go back.
I stopped by this coffee shop in the downtown Memphis area on Sunday morning. It was a lazy morning, a few People gathered there chatting over the coffee. The coffee shop has a cool vibe, however, not the best one. I ordered a cheesy danish and a cold mocha. The danish was decent, but the coffee was too mediocre. It was too sweet. However, the barista was very caring and sweet.
