Java Burrito Company
420 E Broughton St, Savannah, GA
Crema's Take
“This Savannah spot brilliantly blends café culture with a casual food program, earning serious love for their signature Mexican Mocha and house-made pastries like cinnamon rolls that keep people coming back. The vibe shifts seamlessly between a quick-grab espresso bar and a lingering workspace where the genuinely warm staff makes everyone feel welcome, whether you're solo or meeting friends over fresh, thoughtfully-prepared food. What really sets them apart is their honest pricing and obsessive attention to detail—from impeccably clean spaces to consistently fresh ingredients—making it feel like a neighborhood gem rather than just another coffee shop.”

I recently visited Java Burrito Company in Savannah and overall had a decent experience. On the positive side, the restaurant was very clean and well kept. The staff seemed great — lots of hard-working employees who were friendly and moving with purpose. The food presentation looked really good, and the beef in my burrito was cooked well. Most of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. My main issue was the cilantro rice, which serves as the base for the burrito bowl. Unfortunately, the rice was extremely overcooked — it had more of a glue-like consistency than properly cooked rice. Since the rice makes up a large portion of both the burrito bowl and the burrito itself, having that much unappetizing rice at the bottom really takes away from the overall experience. I’m emphasizing this because the steak burrito bowl was about $20. At that price point, I expect a more premium product, especially when it comes to something as foundational as the rice. Overall, I’d rate my experience 3 out of 5 stars. There’s definitely potential here, and with better attention to the rice preparation, it could easily be higher
Whether they're buzzing with a packed crowd or enjoying a relaxed afternoon, Java Burrito Company consistently knocks it out of the park! The service is warm and welcoming — the staff always makes sure to greet you with a smile, even during the busiest rushes. And the food? Always delicious and full of flavor, every single time. One small suggestion to make the experience even smoother: printing the **order number and drink order in larger text on the receipt** would help customers quickly grab their drinks during those extra-busy moments! Breakfast Bowl and Hot Honey Lavender Latte are delicious. This place has so much to offer. Need a spot for a large group, meeting, or gathering? They've got a fantastic **basement area** just for that. Want to soak up some sunshine with your favorite java? Head outside to their wonderful **outdoor seating area**. And inside, you'll find **beautiful décor and merchandise** that make the whole experience feel special. Thank you, Java Burrito Company, for the great food, the great vibes, and all the wonderful memories. We'll definitely be back! ☕🌯
We stopped in for dinner while in Savannah and had a very good experience. The people were friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The establishment was clean with plenty of seats available. Java Burrito not only features good Mexican-style bowls, burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. they also have great coffee. Following our dinner I got a latte to go and it was hot, smooth, and delicious. My only minor complaint is that the unsweetened tea did not taste as fresh as it should. But having said that, I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it as a great place to eat while in the area.
I just discovered a fantastic cafe in Savannah, and I'm in love! The Mexican Mocha they serve is absolutely outstanding—the flavor is out of this world! And don't even get me started on the cinnamon cupcake; it's just perfection! The staff here are amazing and so friendly. Unlike other cafes in the area, they don’t shout out your name when your order is ready; they just calmly bring it over, which I really appreciate. I'm enjoying my experience so much that I can't wait to go back and try some of their food too! 😋
Food is great. Tastes very fresh and flavorful, well seasoned. Queso is very good and the chips are awesome and cheap. The pricing is very accurate not too high and not ridiculously low. Staff is very nice. They do gluten free as well
