This will forever be my favorite coffee shop — and it’s even more special because my mom is the one who introduced me to it. From the very first visit, it felt like more than just a place to grab coffee. It felt like home. The coffee is always amazing — perfectly made, full of flavor, and consistent every single time. But what truly makes this place stand out is the beautiful family who runs it. They are some of the sweetest, kindest people you’ll ever meet. You can genuinely feel the love and care they pour into everything they do. It’s not just coffee — it’s warmth, kindness, and community in every cup. So grateful my mom shared this little gem with me. 💛☕

Hands down the BEST coffee shop around! Not only is the coffee absolutely amazing — rich, smooth, and perfectly made every single time — but the family behind it is the sweetest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. I literally get my coffee all the way from New Mexico because nothing else compares. That should tell you everything! ☕️ The quality, the flavor, the love they put into every cup — it just hits different. I think of myself as a coffee affectiono and this brew is one of best. I have traveled east of the Mississippi and throughout the Midwest and would happily stand in line for this cup again. I met Mauricio and learned a great deal about the origin of this shop. You should too. Highly recommend!

Many coffee shops invest in décor and atmosphere but forget the most important thing: the coffee. That is not the case at Pura Vida Coffee. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine smiles, warm service, and a real heart for the community. You don’t feel like just another customer — you feel valued. And the coffee? Simply outstanding. Grown in the mountains of Costa Rica, carefully selected, naturally dried, and perfectly roasted. The result is a full-bodied, aromatic coffee with smooth fruity notes that’s easy on the stomach. Every cup is made with passion and excellence. After trying it, your standards change — it’s hard to go anywhere else. Important: Please check their hours before visiting. They close at 4:00 PM, so don’t expect to find coffee after that time. Highly recommended. Once you try Pura Vida, you’ll understand why the name says it all.

As a former chef by trade, now... wine enthusiast, I approach coffee the same way I do wine. Its about place. Like the grape varietal of a wine, the bean of a coffee is the same. Regional, bean, terrior, altitude, roast, climate, barista... It's not much different. At Pura Vida Coffee, you'll get a Latin America regional coffee, Costa Rican beans and a Costa Rican owner/barista. He is AS passionate about the coffee and the service of it, as a Sommelier is about a wine, FULL STOP! The service industry is rough, ask anyone working in restaurant's or retail... it’s the 'People business' and often, NOT pretty. But it takes a nurturing soul to work in it, especially when it comes to the food and beverage service of it.... I mean, would you look at that crema!!! 😍 Absolute Perfection! 💯 Underneath it, is the lovely body and heart of my 'Cubano style' espresso, that I asked him to make.
