Baltoz Bakery and Cafe
6709 York Rd, Baltimore, MD
Crema's Take
“This Baltimore spot is a hidden gem for serious pizza lovers who appreciate the kind of crust that actually has character—reviewers rave about the perfect char and structural integrity that survives a 25-minute drive home. Beyond the standout pies with both classic and creative topping combinations, Baltoz pairs its authentic, nonna-style pizza with a warm, family-friendly cafe atmosphere where you can grab traditional coffee drinks and pastries, though fair warning: their hours require some scheduling to catch them.”

Incredible!! We got the vodka pizza. Would be tough to beat anywhere. I traveled ~25 minutes in the car and the pizza held up perfectly. No flop, perfect crust, fresh ingredients. 10/10 would recommend. We can’t wait to try the rest of the pizzas!
Pizza was great with some unique combinations. We had to drive it home 20 minutes so I’m sure it would be better right out of the oven. 2 pies. $40
We’ve been eyeing this place for a while, but every time we craved pizza, the stars (a.k.a. their hours) never aligned 😂. So we usually defaulted to our usual local spots. But tonight—victory! And oh wow, was it worth the wait. We grabbed a takeout pepperoni pizza, and it was everything you want in a pie: hot, bubbly, crispy, and loaded with flavor. Since we live close, it made it home in perfect shape—like it was hand-delivered straight from the oven to our table. Consider this our new neighborhood pizza favorite. Service-wise, I left things neutral. No one was upfront when I walked in, and after waiting a bit I almost did a dramatic “walk out and back in” just to trigger the sound of the door. Eventually someone appeared, polite enough, and I’ll cut them some slack—it was nearing their closing time. Inside feels a little plain (and honestly not super inviting), but I’d happily sit outside on a nice evening. All in all, we’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’re branching out to try those other mouthwatering pies.
Ordered here for the first time and beyond impressed! We got the plain cheese and the chicken, both were sooo good. The char on the crust was perfect. I love a classic cheese but the chicken was to die for - so flavorful with a mild heat. Couldn’t get pics of the whole pies because we devoured them as soon as we opened the boxes. *second time back and got a whole pie pic!
This place is definitely a hidden gem. If you like truly authentic pizza that tastes like nonna used to make, you must check this place out. I’m pretty picky about my pizza, especially the crust. This pizza had no flop even after a 30 minute drive home. Sauce was just right and the cheese was definitely high quality mozzarella.
