Bitter Sweet

We were at the Eye Institute and I found this high rated breakfast place on goggle. At first it seems a little strange setting but once the owner/chef greeted us, it was a great experience. We were lucky for we were catered to quickly and no one else was there for about 20 minutes. Until others “regulars” came in. The food was freshly made and the crepes were delicious. I ordered the veggie and the steak for it was so affordable! They were both delicious. My companion ordered the strawberry one and it was just perfect! And I have to say my companion is not easily impressed and she was 😃. We took 5 more veggie crepes home for dinner and all was under $100!

Ordered the Hawaiian and the teriyaki, both were well portioned and full of flavor. Coffee was delicious and bold without being bitter. For an affordable breakfast place, it is quaint, cozy and everything you could ask for. Service is simple, a combo of do it yourself and table service, but not bothersome cause I’m not paying for a $25-$30/person breakfast. Service was very pleasant and we had everything we needed. Place is clean and tidy. Easy to enjoy a meal and walk out of here very satisfied for $12-15/person, it’s a gem!

Building is very clean and well decorated. Owner is extremely kind and made the wait for the food very pleasant with great conversation. I got the western omelet crepe, the Nutella strawnana crepe, a milk based coffee drink, and 2 waffle sticks. It took roughly 15 to 20 mins to get the food because everything is cooked to order which is fantastic. The crepes were delicious and I definitely recommend them. The drink was good. The waffle sticks were not cooked all the way and had runny batter still in the center. Overall it was a pleasant experience, but I went there for food for 2 people and 1 persons meal was ruined because the food was not done. Will probably give a second chance at some point, but I'm not super anxious to go back.

Service was great although it did take some time to get our food. The food was pretty good but I wish there were different syrup options avaliable. The taste of real maple syrup can really enhance a dish. Our group got a mix of savory and sweet crepes, smoothies, and coffee. I wish the coffee was served in a mug rather than a throw away cup.

Okay this review is a long time coming. This place one of "The BEST" in Cincinnati for crepes. They serve both sweet and savory. They also serve amazing coffee. We've tried both sweet and savory, I prefer the savory, western omlete if you please. However my children enjoy the brown banana and anything Nutella. My wife really enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and I the veggie pizza with chicken. YES All wrapped in delicious crepes. Hey what do you have to lose, nothing. The food is amazing and the service is too. When it gets busy and because they meticulously make their crepes, you may need to wait to enjoy them. But Trust Me they are worth it. So go today or tomorrow but GO!!! You will not be disappointed.
