Crema's Take

This quiet, library-like Jersey City café specializes in creative signature drinks that lean sweetly inventive—the Honey Romance is a standout—though their matcha preparation seems to divide matcha purists. The space itself is the real draw: genuinely chill and conducive to lingering with a laptop or settling in for a meeting, backed by genuinely lovely staff who seem invested in making the place feel welcoming rather than just transactional.

A wonderful little spot. Very chill and quite inside- feels like a library. Creative and yummy drinks. Never had anything bad here! The Honey Romance is quite a sweet drink, but is delicious!

I would not recommend the matcha here for match lovers. The cold drinks only come in one size and it’s too large for the amount of powder they put in. The matcha gets over powered by the milk since they have to fill the cup up so much. Also the matcha powder is sweetened and not authentic. Cold foam tastes good on its own but does not mix well. Also no straws and the powder immediately sinks to the bottom. Only pros: friendly barista and dog friendly

I got sober matcha with soy milk. It comes only iced and with very sweet cream on top which I don’t mind but… They don’t have straws. It means you will be sipping this pure sugar first and then struggling to not spill the drink while drinking, because the drinkable lid is absolutely unusable (ice cubes fall through it)

It was first time trying this coffee shop in downtown and safe to say will be my last. My first drink was the pink lady and I got it hot. It literally tasted like soapy spoilt milk and had succcccchh a bad aftertaste. It was wierd that when ordering the barista didn’t mention that it’s more of an iced drink. Anywho, that had to be trashed and had to get an iced latte which was below average (was way more milk than caffeine). Overall I’d say there are more options for coffee in the neighborhood.

Such a lovely place, a few blocks away from the public library. The cafe has a great atmosphere and lovely staff. The drink menu can be overwhelming, as they're more unique than that of the typical coffee shop. I needed help from the barista, who was more than happy to make a recommendation or two; I appreciated that she asked about my dietary restrictions before making suggestions. I got the Honey Romance, a cold drink made with honey lemonade and butterfly pea flower. I didn't get it stirred, so it was beautifully layered. I was expecting for it to be sweeter, but was pleasantly surprised that it was mild and refreshing.
