Mercato Cafe

Crema's Take
“Mercato Cafe in Simpsonville has carved out a welcoming spot for coffee lovers and remote workers alike, with genuinely good matcha and seasonal specialty drinks that keep regulars coming back, though their espresso-based drinks can be hit-or-miss. The industrial-meets-cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it easy to linger over a pastry, and the cafe clearly puts thought into its space and rotating menu, even if flavor consistency isn't always there. It's the kind of place where you'll want to stay longer than you planned, especially if you're drawn to their matcha or seasonal offerings rather than expecting coffee perfection.”

First time here. Honestly had high hopes for the coffee. Ordered the Valentines specials, a pistachio latte and a sea salt carm shaken espresso. Sadly, both lacked flavor. They tasted the same. Watered down (we did get iced) but shaken espresso was not silky and faomy like it should be when shaken. Coffee had a small burnt taste to it. To be fair, the place was steady so fast service means faster coffee, which means burnt espressos. The walnut sticky bun though was the star! It was so delicious and made up for lack of flavor in our coffees. Atmosphere is nice but more for lounging and hanging out, than a place to study or work. Staff seemed fine. Overall it's okay. Will come back for pastries.
This is one of my favorite places to go for coffee and sandwiches. They always have nice seasonal beverages. The inside is also very clean and there is plenty of seating. Most of the staff is friendly especially Koda, Emma, Grace, Sarah and Annlee. Unlike the others they are very kind and seem to enjoy being at work. I usually get the turkey fig sandwich when I go in, I was very disappointed to find out they had changed the bread on the sandwich. As the new bread does not pair well with the jam on the sandwich.
Update Review: Mercato Coffee is a place I genuinely enjoy spending time in. The décor is well thought out, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the overall vibe makes it easy to stay longer than planned. The team is consistently friendly, which says a lot. A couple of people truly stand out. Savanna is incredibly kind and welcoming you immediately get the sense that she’s deeply invested in the place and the experience customers have. That kind of presence matters. And then there’s Emily. Her service is exceptional. She doesn’t just do her job well she elevates the entire experience. She’s attentive, warm, professional, and always seems to go the extra mile without it ever feeling forced. She fits the culture perfectly and represents the brand in the best possible way. The only area I’d love to see evolve is the food selection. While what’s offered is solid, it would be great to see it refreshed or rotated occasionally. A little variety now and then would take an already good experience and make it even better. Overall, still a great spot especially because of the people who make it what it is.
Say what!? This place is so cute!! They are amazing! Staff is wonderful! I had the matcha with simple syrup and it was just so so good! The cheese danish was out of this world! Definitely coming back!
Nice place. It was packed today because of the car show. Service was good and the coffee was nice. The overall vibe is industrial with a semi-cozy vibe. I feel like a nice mural on the wall above the coolers would be cool. Maybe something in an old world style.
