Crema's Take

Steep Mountain Tea House is a beautifully designed refuge in Bozeman where tea exploration takes center stage, with an impressive wall of loose-leaf options you can smell and sample before ordering. While their creative milk tea menu and caffeine-free selections win devoted fans, consistency with flavor execution seems to vary—some leave raving about the variety and friendly staff, while others find drinks underwhelming. The welcoming, comfortable space makes it an ideal spot for lingering over a cup and settling in with your laptop or meeting a friend.

Nicely decorated space, very comfortable, nice ambience. Customer service was well, not friendly. Ordered two chai lattes and both were tasteless, so much so that we didn’t drink them. Was told they couldn’t improve on the chai flavor and no refunds, just a $5 off gift certificate for my next purchase. Uh, not coming back so that doesn’t help. Enjoy my one and only donation.

Amazing! As a caffeine-free tea drinker, I am typically underwhelmed by the available options. Steep Mountain Teahouse IS THE EXCEPTION! The number and varity of caffeine-free options was outstanding, and the quality of their tea was incredible. Highly recommend!! (And the lemon poppyseed cake is as good as it looks!)

Decided to try some Bozeman boba. I personally had: $7.75 Small 16 oz Green Tea (Chunmee) No Milk Tapioca Pearls ($1.00) Strawberry ($1.00) Bubble Tea Drink itself was a bit tasteless. Not much tea flavor. Boba was ok. The straws need to be changed, since boba gets stuck. Staff was friendly, and space was cool.

They have creative milk tea menu, not traditional milk tea as in Taiwan or other Asian countries. Staff are friendly and courteous. Interiors are clean, well decorated with relaxing atmosphere and ample seatings. The boba tastes rather harder.

I haven’t been here for about 8 years, it’s still the fantastic tea place that I knew and loved! They still have a wall of teas that you can smell and try out. The staff is so friendly and I find that they help you pick surprising flavors that you might not realize you liked! I will come back. I appreciate that the heart of the business feels the same and the prices are fair for a downtown business.
