Take a surf or biking break with an easy detour from the beach to try this new café run by our affable neighbors Ian and Nicole. It’s the perfect place to grab a healthy, tasty casual breakfast, lunch, coffee or juice on the corner of Bushard and Banning. My husband had the huge breakfast croissant with bacon and scrambled eggs, while I tried the simple avocado toast and the pre-made mint, watermelon cucumber juice. Besides the breakfast egg dishes, pastries, juices and coffees, there’s a full menu of salads and sandwiches for lunch. The friendly cashier took our orders and we were served at our table within minutes. With stunning surfing photography on the walls, the café has a shaka vibe as Ian’s family welcomes customers with hugs and handshakes --just like, uh, family.
Delicious food, options for any diet preferences, amazing coffee & matcha, and the staff is all time. Owned by a few HB locals who have been in the food and beverage industry for well over fifty years combined. We had the breakfast burrito with soyrizo and the tuna sandwich, and both were phenomenal. Go check it out and support local!
Bruh!!! I have driven by after surf. My wife has mentioned it. And today it showed up in my feed. So, we dropped in to do a vibe check on this surf spot. The locals were super chill and friendly, even ran into our daughters friend Ana who is working there. Everything checked out. The food and coffee are both on point. Wife got the bowl with sausage and I got the breakfast burrito with avocado. Good siyed portions and great flavors. The drip coffee was good enough for my wife to get seconds! All together the line up here was great and the experience was wonderful. You can tell it's a family run place. We will be returning. I need to try out some of their pastries, which are I believe made by a local micro bakery. They looked delicious. After surf, or if you are looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot, I enthusiastically recommend this place!!
We had breakfast at Boardriders Cafe recently and it was fantastic. It has a cool surf atmosphere with lots of historic HB surf photos covering the walls. The food was very well done with generous portions. I got the breakfast tacos with bacon, we honestly could have split them and been good. Just an FYI, Sergio’s Coffee is a sweetened coffee maybe with cinnamon. It was good, just not my thing. Great place, excellent service, family friendly… go support this new local business.
I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant when I walked in......... the place was packed and buzzing with energy. But the service was on point, the atmosphere was lively without being chaotic, and the food exceeded expectations. I ordered the chicken sandwich on sourdough and it was spot-on: flavorful, perfectly cooked, and "healthy". Despite the crowd, everything came out in a timely manner and the staff handled the rush like pros. If you’re in the area and looking for a solid meal with good vibes and great service, this spot’s worth your time. Highly recommend.
