Crema's Take

House of Bagels Central Coast is a bagel-focused spot where the real magic happens between the bread and fillings—think perfectly toasted everything bagels with sun-dried tomatoes and jalapeño cheddar, or a turkey and Asiago sandwich that'll stick with you long after you leave. The espresso program isn't the draw here, but the warm, attentive staff (Erika gets special mention) and thoughtfully constructed breakfast sandwiches make this feel like a genuine neighborhood gathering place on San Luis Obispo's Central Coast.

If you like breakfast bagel sandwiches you won't be disappointed. However, they say they have an espresso machine but you won't recognize the flavor of whatever espresso based drink you order. Everyone seems kind and helpful though. Lines get a little long and it's a bit disorganized when it's busy but we like the sandwiches so keep going.

Yes. I am upset let me explain. We ordered three everything bagel, sun dried tomatoes, cheddar Jalapeño toasted with butter. Very straightforward order nothing else. There are four people behind the counter, only working 2 orders but still can’t get it done right. It took 25+ minutes to get our order making us miss our next plans. When got into car and started driving and realized one of the bagel was bagel with egg patties, for the one person allergic to eggs. Not sure if the person taking the order was not paying attention or the people making the order. Anyways they are clueless and can use some management help.

I went a few weeks ago with my fíance and it was delicious! It was my first time trying a place like this, and I got a Turkey sandwich on a Asiago bagel and it has been on my mind since. The pasta was really good, the environment was cute I loved the nature decor and every single employee is a hard worker, the owner is amazing too everyone is so nice, welcoming, and beautiful. I will definitely be going back again!

Erika took care of me this morning, very exceptional customer service. They were out of a few items, and seemed short staffed, however she made the visit very delightful. Thanks Erika and HOB! I will be returning soon!

I should have looked at the reviews before I decided to eat here. I love lox so I decided on the lox with egg, lox & schmear because it was only supposedly .25 cents more than the nova lox & schmear. They also wanted to charge extra for capers, tomato and onion. It was already $13.50. I ordered my meal and chose a sourdough bagel from what was remaining. After ringing it up, the price was higher and there was a .26 charge for the sourdough bagel. Sourdough bagels are listed under regular bagels so I don't know why there is an up charge. Why was the price higher than on the menu. There were other corrections on the menu. In the end it was nothing special. I've never been dissapointed by a lox bagel until today. I won't be returning here. It was mediocre at best. The cashier was wonderful and was kind enough to adjust the price to the menu listed price. I was grateful for that.
