Crema's Take
“This beloved Stockton spot serves up authentic Mexican breakfast with standout dishes like Spicy Nopales Rancheros that keep regulars coming back, though fair warning: service can lag during peak times when the place fills up with families and friends looking for a slow, social meal. The generous portions and fresh, flavorful food make it worth the occasional wait, and you'll find plenty of parking and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that feels more like gathering at a friend's kitchen than grabbing a quick bite.”

I had a great experience at Mi Ranchito Cafe. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and she made sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again!
The server gave me rice even though I said I didn't want any. The chips were disgusting. I ordered eggs rancheros and it was the worst "ranchero" sauce I have ever had. It was like they poured water on my plate. There was no crunchy tortilla under my eggs as well. The beans were good and they serve homemade flour tortillas, which were good as well. I would not go back.
Food is always amazing! The downfalls are its usually always packed so hard to find parking at times and service isn't great. We waited 5-10 to be seated, for menus, for drinks and refills. We saw our food sitting by the kitchen a while and our waitress just wouldn't go pick it up. Another younger waitress ended up helping us more than our actual waitress. And it seems like this every time for us. I'd say its worth trying out, but just be prepared to wait.
Visiting Stockton stopped at MI Ranchito Cafe for breakfast, ordered the Spicy Nopales Rancheros/eggs with Chicharrones, great taste, good portion, excellent choice, if in Stockton worth a visit the Cafe has a history going back to the 1950s.
Finally went to this restaurant with some friends. It is their favorite Mexican Food place not sure it is mine. Everybody has different likes when it comes to food. The food was fresh and tasted good but in my opinion, too much sauce (which I thought was a bit watery - again my opinion) for the dish I ordered, which was Chilaquiles with eggs. The eggs had been scrambled not fried eggs put on top like I have had at other establishments. My friends had Huevos Rancheros with Chili Colorado and his wife had a Wet Chicken Burrito. Their meals looked good, so maybe it was the dish I ordered. I was told that you have to go for breakfast or lunch to get the fresh homemade tortillas. They were tasty. Our server was attentive. Anyway, if in the area maybe you give it a go. It is a well known restaurant in the area and has been there for years.
