Crema's Take

Filo is a beloved Asheville institution where regulars return year after year for cakes that inspire genuine devotion and cappuccinos that feel like a treat for your senses. The warmth here runs deep—staff members celebrate birthdays like they're part of the family, and the rainy-day vibes are so good that people plan visits around gloomy weather. Beyond the exceptional pastries and creative drinks like their espresso chocolate martini, Filo offers that rare combination of a welcoming, attentive space where you can linger, meet friends, or simply exist comfortably with a really good coffee.

Okay, I have to talk about Filo for a second. My dad and I have been going there for years, and the cakes? Always incredible. The one I had the other day was just one of MANY I’ve eaten over time — and somehow they never miss. Not once. Everything looks beautiful, like you almost feel bad cutting into it… but then you take a bite and forget all about that. Perfect texture, not overly sweet, super fresh — just next-level good. Filo isn’t just a “grab a slice” kind of place. It’s a “we’re coming back again soon” kind of place. Every visit feels like a treat, and honestly, it’s one of our go-to dessert stops in Asheville. If you haven’t tried their cakes yet, you’re missing out. I’ll definitely be back for my next slice soon. 🍰

Alright, lemme tell ya something. I roll into this place and hoo boy, it’s like my taste buds just went to a fancy spa and came out singin’. I order myself a nice cappuccino, all foamy and smooth with that little dusting of chocolate on top that makes you feel like a classy adult even though you’re still wearin’ sweatpants. Then I see this almond croissant, this beautiful golden pastry lookin’ at me like, “Hey buddy, you know you want me.” And lemme tell ya, I did. I took one bite and boom! Instant happiness. Flaky, buttery layers, the perfect almond filling not too sweet, not too heavy just pure magic. I may have shed a single tear of joy. So yeah, if you’re in Asheville do yourself a favor and stop by Filo. Get the almond croissant, get the cappuccino, live your best life!

New favorite place to visit on a rainy day. The vibes are so high at Filo! Thankful for a kind and caring staff. I mentioned it was my birthday to one of the baristas and she went above and beyond by bringing the most amazing slice of tiramisu over with a sweet birthday candle. Great coffee and quiche, as well!

Filo Pastries and Post 70 Indulgence is such a wonderful place and has super staff members, and I'm really thankful to have them here in east Asheville. I tried my first espresso chocolate martini, and now I'm hooked! Try the food and, of course, the desserts I think you'll be happy as I have been.

Great little spot! Good food, the bagel was a little greasy but I asked for bacon 🥓 🙃. Friendly service and a floor plan that was super accommodating. I sat at the bar and had house coffee. Clean bathroom and it appears this place turns into a bar at night. Wifi was a little spotty and slow, It could be because of the rain. They normally have water you can stay hydrated with and various condiments are available to compliment the meals. Coffee was delicious 😋
