Vinal Bakery
222 Somerville Ave, Somerville, MA
Crema's Take
“Vinal Bakery is Somerville's breakfast sandwich royalty, built on the foundation of their legendary house-made English muffins—thick, pillowy clouds that locals say set the gold standard for the entire category. Their sandwiches are generously stuffed with fresh, quality ingredients, and they're not afraid to get creative with seasonal variations like their beloved French toast English muffin, which somehow manages to be both decadent and perfectly balanced. It's a tight, beloved neighborhood spot that gets busy for good reason, so arrive early if you want to grab one of their exceptional sandwiches and maybe pick up a pack of muffins to take home.”

I loved the food here! The sandwiches are huge. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. The English muffins themselves are massive and fluffy. They have seasonal English muffins and treats/drinks. Also some sandwich specials. The inside is very small, and there is some seating. We went around 12PM on a Sunday and it was packed. Difficult to stand or find seating. I recommend ordering online and picking up at the window. They have treats in the take out window for furry friends. We can’t wait to go back!
We went there few weeks ago and the sandwiches we had were delicious! The English muffins are extremely good and fresh, so I also took for home a pack. I would say that only disadvantage is space, which is small and it gets uncomfortable when is more busy, but could be better for a to go option. Other than that, the stuff is very nice. I recommend!
Vinal in Somerville is such a gem! The American Classic with the French toast English muffin is absolutely phenomenal, sweet, savory, and perfectly balanced. The staff is incredibly sweet and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I’d suggest getting there early because they run out of things quickly, which just shows how good the food really is. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!
Came here yesterday late morning and parked down the street in front of Target. It’s been on my list for awhile and I was excited to finally try it due to the hype and my love for English Muffins. Don’t get me wrong they were good but not out of this world. I asked the person at the front what I should get and she recommended three and I choose the Sausage McVinal then got an individual English muffin with maple butter. The loss of the star was because I was the only one in there and waited a solid ten minutes and received a burnt English muffin. It was also just on the edge of being undercooked. Hard to see in the picture. The sandwich was good but all in it was $15, so overall this was 3.5 stars. I can’t imagine what the wait would be on a busy weekend morning so I would probably recommend ordering ahead. Might come back if I’m in the area but won’t go out of my way.
Vinal Bakery is the local king of breakfast sandwiches in my opinion. Their English muffins set the standard for all English muffins to follow. Food: The sausage, egg, and cheese was incredible. The salty sausage patty was perfect with the fluffy English muffin and the creamy egg and cheese. It was the complete package and it really filled me up. We also got some lattes that were great compliments to the great food. Service: Staff were kind and super fast with the order! Atmosphere: The dining space is on the smaller side but the simple colors and the wall decor helps to make it cozy for a quick sit down visit.
