Crema's Take

La Colombe's brutalist Philadelphia roastery is an espresso-focused destination that rewards curious coffee drinkers willing to engage with the craft—their knowledgeable staff excel at guiding you through options like draft lattes and cold brew, though the aesthetic is deliberately austere rather than cozy. It's a place that prizes excellent coffee execution and pastries over comfort, with flexible seating across an open, island-like layout that works equally well for solo focus or larger groups.

Cold atmosphere, interesting in a brutalist way but not comfy. Service was neutral. Croissant was excellent. Espresso was served in a small glass with barely any crema. I do not think they take pride in espresso shots here, feels like they focus on making milk drinks.

I had such a great experience at La Colombe! The staff delivered not only excellent customer service, but also took the time to educate me on the different coffee options—from draft lattes to cold brews and beyond. What really made my visit special? They crafted a perfect heart on my latte, and explained the process behind it like true coffee artists. It’s rare to feel both welcomed and informed in one stop, but they nailed it. I’ll definitely be back for both the coffee and the great vibes. ☕❤️ #CoffeeLovers #LaColombe #BaristaArt #GreatService

Service was fast and staff was friendly. There’s a lot of room to sit inside or outside. The vibe is open and the place was clean. We had a group of 12 so there were a lot of us. We got the draft latte — really good, hot chocolate— great, drip coffee- excellent! Outdoor seating is a great view right near the liberty bell!

A good experience. I was debating coming here as I had another shop in mind, but I’m glad I chose here. This location set up is very neat with the coffee shop being an island in the foyer of the building, and you can walk 360 degrees all the way around and see what the baristas are doing. The coffee was good, and the croissant I had was HUGE! I’d come back here, and just may tomorrow morning. Plenty of seating and a ton of traffic, though there was never a line and there were always open seats.

There is a reason this place is well know for its coffee. Tried cafe mocha and late, Late was definitely better. Croissant was really good, I would recommend it. The person on the counter was in a lot of rush even though there was hardly anyone in the cafe. A good option to sit and work. The restrooms were not well maintained.
