Crema's Take

Colossal Cafe is a beloved Saint Paul breakfast and lunch destination that earns its reputation with generously portioned, made-from-scratch food designed to sustain you through those long Minnesota winters. The welcoming atmosphere balances bustling counter-service lines during peak hours with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it equally suited for a quick grab or lingering conversation with friends. While some regulars note that prices have crept up and flavors could use more boldness, the consistent quality and genuine hospitality keep folks coming back.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, quick-grab, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

We enjoyed brunch at the Colossal. There was plenty of outdoor seating and there wasn't a lot of street traffic. Good food, fair value. It's counter service, but they bring your food out to you and clear your dishes when you're done. I would definitely go back.
