Crema's Take
“Fei's Cafe brings serious heat and flavor to Albuquerque with consistently excellent stir-fries and family-style dishes that keep locals coming back—think perfectly spiced pork noodles and standout tofu that rivals the best around. This is a genuine neighborhood spot where generous portions, friendly service, and an extensive menu make it equally great for a quick solo coffee grab or a family meal with the kids, and they've earned loyal devotion since their previous location.”

Fei's brings the heat! And the flavor! For those who are wondering, this is not the same restaurant that was on Eubank and Candelaria. I'm not aware of wether or not the original owner is associated with the new owners. I do know that the food is very different. I have had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions and have tried quite a few menu items. All have been absolutely amazing! There are many Chinese restaurants in ABQ, but none offering truly authentic cuisine like Fei's. The chef is here directly from Chongqing, famous for its fiery Sichuan cuisine. And I'm here to tell you that there is nothing that compares in Albuquerque. The braised fish with sour cabbage has rich, complex flavors that rise above the intense heat. My personal favorite is the dry pot beef with potatoes. For a milder level of heat try the handmade noodles with beef brisket in original broth. The handmade noodles are really special. Oh and the dry fried green beans... OMG! Everything is amazing and made fresh in house. This is a true hole in the wall Chinese cafe serving food for the Chinese palate. Not Americanized Chinese food. A truly unique experience and highly recommended. Just go try it. You will be amazed!
My Family Style Tofu was some of the best I've ever had. The server was very friendly. The menu was extensive and had many yummy sounding things.
I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I have tried a few dishes and I have loved it every time. Today I tried the stir fried pork and I think this was my favorite so far ! Great service and great food !
The food is amazing. Always hot and fresh. Made just right. I had the pork spicey stir fry with noodles and its amazing. The kids like the fried rice with shrimp or beef. The menu is very good for all kinds of different tastes. WOW. This is my 4th time going and always delicious. The picture was the beef and shrimp rice with tso's beef.
My family has been going to this restaurant since they were located at Eubank, and it's by far my favorite restaurant. The portion sizes are large, rice is free and unlimited, and the food is delicious. My personal favorites: - Meat dishes: Pickled Cabbage Braised Pork Intestines (my all-time favorite for those feeling adventurous!), signature sweet-glazed duck - Vegetarian options: Dry-fried green beans, braised eggplant in garlic sauce, tomato and egg stir-fry (this isn't on the menu, but the chef cooks it very well!) - Soups: Signature pig's trotters soup The dishes here do tend to be on the oilier, saltier, and spicier side, so if you can't take that much oil/salt/spice, it would be a good idea to tell the chef to adjust the levels. Note: The chef doesn't speak much English, and the meal is largely self-serve (they are short-staffed, so sometimes there isn't a waiter), so don't expect 5-star service. But do expect 5-star food! Also, their ordering machine appears to be buggy sometimes, so I suggest ordering take-out in-person instead of online. I've attached a picture of their salt and pepper chicken and fish from my last meal here. It wouldn't be one of my top recommendations, but it's definitely good!
