Crema's Take

Michael's Kitchen is a beloved Taos institution where the real magic happens in the kitchen—their green and red chile elevates everything on the menu, and locals swear by smothering their breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros in it. The homey, inviting atmosphere and genuinely friendly service create that rare breakfast-spot feeling where you're welcomed like family, though arrive early or expect a wait that moves surprisingly fast. Beyond the stellar savory fare, their enormous cinnamon rolls are legendary, and the coffee hits that perfect sweet spot between quality and comfort.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Delicious food! And generous portion size. Be sure to check out the bakery. Just a note...you will not be seated unless your entire party is present.

Definitely have breakfast here. I Loved my Breakfast Burrito. The hash browns were crispy in the burrito. Just enough eggs & meat. My husband had the French Toast. Coffee was perfect

Best breakfast in Taos! Whatever you get will be made better smothered in one of their chilis! And don’t leave without a HUGE cinnamon roll! There is always a wait. It tends to move quickly. Well worth it !
