Blue Bottle Coffee

Crema's Take

This West Hollywood Blue Bottle captures the essence of espresso-focused coffee craft, where even a seasoned former barista praises the consistency of their shots, temperature control, and milk technique every visit. While the service keeps things straightforward rather than fussy, the spacious indoor setting makes it a genuinely comfortable spot to linger with excellent pour overs and traditional drinks, though you'll want to call ahead about their closing times before heading over.

I visited this cafe with my family on the morning of February 19th. I initially ordered an espresso thinking it was the only option, but when I later asked if americano was available, the Asian female staff member was incredibly kind and offered to remake it for me right away. As a traveler from Korea, this was the warmest and most welcoming experience I’ve had. Not to mention, the coffee she made was absolutely excellent! Thank you so much for your kindness. I wish her all the best and a life full of happiness!

I worked as a barista for 11 years so I have high standards for coffee. Every time I come here, the coffee is perfect, in flavor, in temperature and foaming technique. You really can’t mess with any of these places. They keep a high standard so if I’m looking for a good coffee, I always know where to go.

I used to enjoy coming here for the coffee. Many of the baristas are super nice, and the quality was usually good. However, the inconsistent closing hours have become a real problem. They used to close at 7pm, then it changed to 5pm. A few weeks ago, they closed at 4pm, then 3:30pm, and today 2pm! Meanwhile, other coffee shops in the area remain open, so this feels like a management issue, or maybe the staff isn’t being treated or paid properly. To make things worse, I came in last week at 4:57pm (05/27). A new barista told me, “We are closed.” I pointed out it wasn’t 5pm yet, and she repeated, “We are closed,” clearly annoyed. I asked to speak with Peter, the manager, and she snapped, “What do you want?” I still got my coffee, but it was mostly foam (see picture). What a joke! It’s disappointing. If this keeps up, I’ll stop supporting this brand. Loyal customers deserve better.

The coffee is very good-bottom line. The service is standard, no going out of their way to meet customer requests—no Stevia…not super accommodating. Pastries obviously not made in house but should get better from better source. Cramped for what it was-could use space better and make more accommodating. Overall OK experience w very good coffee.

Good location, plenty of street parking. This location has a great setting area inside but cannot be used during pandemic, no outdoor seating. Friendly service, coffee as always very good. Decently sized retail section to purchase coffee tools and accessories. Don't forget to order waffle 👍
