Velo Coffee Roasters
509 E Main St #3, Chattanooga, TN
Crema's Take
“Velo Coffee Roasters wins hearts with its inviting atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff, making it a solid neighborhood spot for working or lingering over pastries like their praised chicken biscuits. That said, the coffee itself seems to be the shop's softer point—reviewers consistently note that espresso drinks lack the flavor depth and clarity you'd hope for at specialty prices, so come for the space and vibes rather than expecting espresso excellence.”

While the service was great, Velo’s speciality latte was simply lackluster. I anticipated a delicious balance of flavor when paying $8 for a latte, but the one I had was simply bland. The atmosphere was decent, but you can only enjoy it for two hours on the WiFi provided via your receipt code. The experience presented gourmet but was inevitably cheap.
Big fan of the atmosphere & the aesthetic, & I like their chicken biscuits too, but not a fan of their coffee operation. > I’m not entirely sure I follow the philosophy. I ordered a cortado with simple syrup, watched the care and artistry that went into making it, and then was given my syrup on the side—something I didn’t ask for. I guess beggars can’t be choosers? The art in my pictures don’t reflect the work received because I was pouring my simple syrup in my coffee… I’m also not a fan of wasting cups for the sake of serving separate syrups or shots of espresso.
Super cute coffee shop, lovely staff. I ordered a carrot ginger muffin and a Vanilla CB Latte. I enjoyed the outdoor seating area. My muffin was great, didn’t get any vanilla from my Vanilla CB Latte, but I enjoyed the way it was served.
I really like the location, atmosphere, and size of this place. The staff were friendly, there was plenty of space to sit, and in general it was quite quiet which is always nice. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have a mocha option, but the vanilla latte was well made. I would liked it more if it had had more vanilla in it, but it was still a well made drink. In general the shop was on par with most other modern coffee shops in Chattanooga, which is above average.
Excellent place to do some work and drink good coffee. The staff is friendly and the place is nice. Wifi speeds are approximately 500mbps down. I got an espresso and the flavor was very bright, but not overly acidic. Very good pull.
