Crema's Take

Tucked into Tahoe City, this beloved spot excels at the kind of unhurried breakfast that makes you want to linger over strong coffee and scratch-made pastries, with reviewers raving especially about their from-scratch gravies and Monte Cristo sandwiches. The warm, attentive service and comfortable atmosphere make it a genuine gathering place—whether you're celebrating an anniversary or catching up with friends over a leisurely meal. It's the kind of place where a 30 to 40-minute wait feels worthwhile because everything arrives fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

Lovely spot for a hearty plate of breakfast and a cup of strong coffee. Menu is great - not a single bad option on it! We’ve had the deluxe French toast, pancakes, Monte Cristo, breakfast burrito, and the Cali omelette plate. The pancakes are HUGE and so fluffy! We ate breakfast here everyday during our visit to Tahoe. The staff are WONDERFUL - kind, helpful, and are obviously having fun at work. They remember us and bring us coffee without us needing to ask! Food is excellent - hot, tasty, plentiful. Vibes are friendly and local. DO NOT skip this spot - go!

Stopped by on our most recent Tahoe trip after receiving a recommendation. Cute little place. The food was great. Our table ordered lunch and breakfast options and they were all well made, fresh and tasty. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Only issue was the staggered food arrival at the table left some people with no food and those with eggs not wanting to wait for fear of everything getting cold. Enjoyed the music that was playing too! We will come back.

We were seated quickly and well cared for. Great servers and attentive without being intrusive. My wife and I were visiting for our twentieth anniversary and we were so impressed by this place. Comfortable ambience and the food was so good! We both had so much and while some places just seen to focus on quantity, quality, or appearance, we felt they really had amazing quality, quantity, and all of our dishes had tight and thoughtful presentation, which I did not expect on breakfast dishes. We cannot say enough and I honestly have only ever left restaurant review one other time, but felt this needed to be shared.

Finding a good breakfast place in North Tahoe was a bit of a challenge, but we came across this spot and decided to give it a try. There was a long wait — around 30 to 40 minutes — but it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere was cozy and full of character. The restaurant is set in an old post office, so there are fun postal touches throughout — vintage weight scales and large stamp prints on the walls add a unique charm to the space. The food was delicious and plentiful, definitely great value for the money. I ordered egg whites and later found out there was a $2.50 surcharge that the server didn’t mention. The staff seemed a bit stressed and straightforward, but given how busy it was, that made sense. The crab cake Benedict was excellent, and the French toast was also very good. The only downside is that there’s just one restroom for everyone, so there was often a line. Still, overall a wonderful breakfast experience — highly recommended!

This place was a great little gem. There were five of us and we all had a great breakfast! The gravy for the chicken, fried steak and biscuits and gravy was excellent. It's rare to find a great gravy. Usually it's too bland, but not here. Staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely looking forward to having breakfast or lunch here again!
