Crema's Take
“Tucked along a bustling Richmond street, Lou's Cafe is a neighborhood institution beloved for their signature Dutch crunch bread that elevates every sandwich on their expansive menu, from the legendary Kickin' RB to creative house specials that keep regulars coming back. The spot strikes that perfect balance between a quick grab-and-go destination and a welcoming spot to linger with your laptop, with fair prices, generous portions, and a house special sauce that ties everything together beautifully. It's the kind of place where a line out the door on a Saturday afternoon tells you everything you need to know about what locals trust.”

Lous Café is located in a busy street in the Richmond, and offers various traditional sandwiches with their famous Dutch crunch bread. I try the Roma style sandwich, and it was very tasty. Specially, their home saude that adds a lot to the flavor to the sandwich. The prices are OK and they only make sandwiches for takeout. I recommend going directly to the store for takeout for better prices than the traditional apps.
So with a recommendation from Infatuation off GM I try Lou’s. My new go to for sure hands down. Priced right. Freshy Fresh. Spicy as you want it. Try the Kickin RB. Great sandwich. Great shop.
I came here for lunch on a Saturday because I was in the area and I had to stop because there was a line and I wanted to check out what it was for when all of the other businesses surrounding it were a bit dead. There was a bit of a wait to order and a bit of a wait to get the sandwich but it did not disappoint! I ended up going with the AMI-CADO on Dutch crunch and it was amazing! I'm usually not a huge fan of sandwiches unless it's on dutch crunch and the jalapeno spread makes it 10x better. There wasn't any seating available at the store front but we were able to walk over to a nearby park that had tables to sit and enjoy the sandwiches. The pricepoint I think is also pretty good for what you get.
Parking: street parking. The store looks a little old outside. Prices are about average and the portions are good. Food: ordered breakfast sandwich, very tasty especially the bread is easy to chew. Personally don't like hard bread crusts. The sandwich has good amount of fillings, which I don't just taste plain bread. Maybe coming back to try one with their special sauce.
Came here on various occasions for sandwiches. Tried multiple on their massive menu and all were so good! Recently tried the Ultimate Club & Hot Links. Their special sauce pulls everything together and the bread they use is top tier. I do not tend to eat bread products in general, but in Lou’s sandwiches I do!!! They get busy during lunchtime so be prepared to wait or can call in for your order. Will try more things on their menu next time!
