Crema's Take

This beloved San Jose spot has built a devoted following through genuinely warm staff and a thoughtfully diverse menu that blends Mediterranean and Mexican influences with quality halal proteins—it's the kind of place regulars return to twice in one week. The cozy, family-friendly atmosphere invites lingering over excellent coffee and elevated breakfast fare, though its popularity means arriving early or having patience for a seat is part of the experience. What sets iJava apart isn't just the food and specialty coffee, but the palpable sense that the team treats every visitor like they're welcoming you into their home.

This was my second visit to iJava, and I came back because I remembered how genuinely kind the staff was the first time. I’m happy to say my experience was just as wonderful again! The team is friendly, welcoming, and makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. I also had the chance to meet the owner, Ali. We chatted for a bit about the new renovations he’s excited about—creating more comfortable workspaces for people who need a place to sit, focus, and work. It’s clear he really cares about making iJava not just a restaurant, but a cozy atmosphere where people can enjoy good coffee and get some work done. I tried the cappuccino dry with one pump of vanilla, and it was so good—smooth, flavorful, and just the right touch of sweetness. The turkey and egg croissant sandwich with added avocado was divine! Definitely recommend! ☕🥐✨

Love this place. Zabiha halal brunch spot- amazing bacon and sausages - and the menu is diverse. Both times we came here we loved the food and were already planning when we’d be back again. Yvette was our server both times and she’s such a sweetheart - she made us laugh so much! The chilaquiles and the meat lover’s omelette is gas. Also the swedish pancakes changed me.

Had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to get seated since the place was packed, but it was worth it. We went with three people and the total came to around 100 dollars with tip, so it can get a little pricey. We tried the eggs Benedict, beef brisket burrito, and chilaquiles, along with a pistachio latte and Mexican hot chocolate. Everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. The standout for me was definitely the chilaquiles. The eggs Benedict was good too, not the best I have ever had, but the potatoes on the side were incredible. They had perfect crunch and amazing seasoning. The burrito was tasty, though not my favorite, but honestly nothing disappointed. The drinks were amazing. The pistachio latte was super creamy and the Mexican hot chocolate had the perfect temperature, creaminess, and foam. Service was friendly and attentive even when it was crowded. We noticed an extra seven dollar charge for a drink on the receipt, but they were quick and kind enough to refund it the next day. Overall, a really solid experience with great food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere.

So far, I have been to two different iJava cafes in the Bay Area, and while they are both 5-star establishments, this location stands out. They have great Mediterranean and Mexican food, along with classic dishes. Everything is halal. I come here a lot with friends, and recently introduced this diner to my husband. I thought I'd write a quick review highlighting our last experience. I had the steak, potatoes and eggs, while he went with a chicken katsu burrito. Food was great, as usual, and the service was excellent. The waitresses are always really nice. This location has great indoor and outdoor seating too. I highly recommend iJava.
