Crema's Take
“Tucked away in Philadelphia, this solo-run gem balances a thoughtful all-vegan menu with an unexpectedly stellar coffee program, earning particular love for creative drinks like their hazelnut specialty that keep regulars coming back. The natural, quiet aesthetic and reasonable prices create the kind of neighborhood spot where you can linger over a maple-mustard vegan sausage sandwich and a carefully made coffee without the fuss of trendiness. It's the rare place where the food and drinks feel equally considered, making it worth seeking out whether you're vegan-curious or just after genuinely good coffee and breakfast.”

I love this place! I recently went for the first time last Friday, and it was really nice! I like the indoor decor, the quiet vibes….the food was delicious! The owner runs that WHOLE PLACE all by herself and she runs a TIGHT ship! I ordered the delicious miso soup and the spicy vegan sausage wrap and the chocolate banana muffin, and a mango lychee matcha drink. I can admit, I wasn’t a fan of the matcha drink. It didn’t taste AT ALL like I expected. But other than that, EVERYTHING was 5 stars! The space, the music, the food, the owner, even other kind customers so easygoing to talk to! This space is so clean and pleasant, and I can’t wait until the weather breaks so I can see what it’s like to sit outside and in the garden. AND I would like to see the resident magical cafe cat that apparently lives there next time ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love how natural the place looks and the food was amazing as well. Love visiting only vegan places. The prices are very reasonable as well
Today, I stopped by to enjoy a delicious sausage breakfast sandwich, featuring in-house vegan sausage, tomato cheese, and maple mustard on an everything bagel. Priced at just around nine bucks, it is a fantastic value. This meal is not only filling but also incredibly tasty. Sometimes, I opt for the "dont go bacon in my heart," another delightful breakfast option with homemade coconut bacon, chickpea flax eggs, cheese, tomato, and maple mustard. The Ramen here is top-notch in the city, and their wraps, like the super veggie wrap, are huge and satisfying. If you follow a vegan diet, this is the place for you. The owner, Alice, has been running this establishment for over two decades for a reason. In my opinion, this is the best vegan restaurant in Philadelphia, and I have never been disappointed. They offer a wide variety of menu items, with 99% made in-house, down to the cashew cheese. The bread they serve is also excellent, sourced from outside vendors. The portion sizes are generous, making it a great value. Their fresh pressed juices and smoothies are some of the best in the city. I make it a point to visit as often as I can, whether you are a local or just passing through. If you're vegan, this place is a must-visit.
What a cool way to make a veggie wrap. (I ate most of it before I remembered to take a pic) I also had the dumplings and Mac and cheese. Really good vegan food. And parking wasn't difficult to find at all. Really responsible prices. The menu seems like it's from 2017- where can you get a bagel sandwich for under $8!?!? A bunch of vegan treats like donuts and brownies- personally, not my jam but I love that there are options. I play Yahtzee with my girl while we go out to eat and I won 3 games in a row. I don't know if it was my amazing Yahtzee skills, the ambience of Joy Cafe, or a combination of both...but I left victorious. PS- the staff is very nice!
This place is super cute! And the food was delicious as well. I loved their hazelnut coffee drink (maybe a little too much given how many I had). I always thought it was cute when I’d walk by the place, and I’m so glad we came in the other day.
