Crema's Take

This beloved Waco institution pairs expertly sourced fair trade coffee with genuinely cared-for breakfast and lunch classics—think thick-cut bacon, garden-fresh tomatoes, and made-from-scratch comfort food that actually tastes like someone's grandmother is in the kitchen. The real magic happens in the warm, attentive service and authentic American diner atmosphere where Chef Mike himself welcomes guests and shares the café's story, making every visit feel like you've discovered your new neighborhood spot.

Great experience at World Cup Café & Fair Trade Market! Chef Mike was welcoming and shared the café’s story with us. The breakfast bowl was delicious, and the coffee hit the spot. Highly recommend.

Total hidden gem! I stopped in for lunch and had the BLT and onion rings. The BLT was perfect—thick-cut, crispy bacon and fresh tomatoes that actually tasted like they came from a garden. But the onion rings? Those were the star of the show. Super crunchy and not greasy at all. You can tell this place is a local favorite. I’ll definitely be back! Rachel was super friendly and the food came out quick and Hot! If you are from Waco you should know about this spot and if you aren’t make sure you stop in for a good meal!

Nice place and very good food. You can feel the American atmosphere here. Diana, our waitress, was super helpful. I did enjoy my pecan pie and my omelette.

An truly American breakfast. I had an omelette with 3 eggs, bacon, Texan toast and potatoes. The coffee is great and refillable. People were very polite and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to have a meal.

This is a very mixed review- high highs and low lows. Pros: - eating inside means very attentive, sweet service. Your drinks are always filled and it’s a lovely neighborhood spot - the portions are reasonable and so is the price - love the sandwiches! Very flavorful Cons: - for whatever reason this is just an entirely different experience if you order online- there’s usually something missing or wrong. Maybe their ordering portal is just bad? - it’s gotten worse over time, with smaller portions packed - this last time they made me a salad, omitted the stuff I asked for, charged extra for olives (I get it, times are tough) which would have been fine except that the three olives given were….. not Kalamata olives. When I asked about this I was informed that these were Kalamata olives. Unless black cocktail olives are suddenly Kalamata, I don’t know why you would double down on that, especially when it was missing other ingredients listed. I would have been fine if I was just told they were out of kalamata or if they mislabeled it. But woof. In summary: just go in person and enjoy the ambiance!!! That’s where they are strong
