Maple Street Biscuit Company - Sherrill Hill
9314 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN
Crema's Take
“This beloved Knoxville breakfast spot wins hearts with made-from-scratch biscuits and creative sandwiches like the Squawking Goat that keep locals and visitors alike coming back despite the famously quirky, communal seating arrangement. The vibe is more bustling café than leisurely brunch destination—expect fresh-cooked everything and a line during peak hours, but know that patience pays off with quality. Their specialty coffee drinks, from iced caramel toffee crunch to cold brew, pair perfectly with their full breakfast menu and pastries in a space that's unapologetically chaotic when packed.”

Visiting from out of town and decided to stop in for breakfast with my daughter. I had the hash bowl and iced caramel toffee crunch coffee. My daughter had the little grace chocolate chip waffle and apple juice. We both enjoyed our meals and it’s a cute place for a quick bite.
Amazing food. Service is a bit slow, but they cook everything fresh. Atmosphere is very Cafe style. Seating is a bit weird. A lot of big tables, and sitting next to strangers if it's busy.
Ever since it's opening, I've heard Maple Street Biscuit Company described as either a hit or a miss. Either you're a big fan or you're not and quite honestly, we were not impressed. We ordered an Americano, soda, the Five & Dime (bacon, egg, cheddar, and gravy) and Squawking Goat (crispy goat cheese and pepper jelly). The goat cheese was anything but crispy. As someone who loves goat cheese and salty-sweet combinations, the textures and flavors in this dish were a definite letdown. Of the two, the Five & Dime was the better option, but even then, it didn't feel worth the price. Appreciate the concept, but the execution just isn't there.
Went in for breakfast this morning and the place is pretty busy. The line to order moved along fairly well. Ordering is easy but after that is my issue. It's hard to find four spots open or together. If you have a family, seating is challenging. Second they only have stools and very high bar stool type chairs. Both were terrifying to my three year old. We did finaly get a spot at the giant round table. So my fiancée and I both got retro plates. A fantastic biscuit that had a little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The blueberry jam was absolutely next level. The smashbrowns are seriously good. They have a Polish potato pancake thing going on. You only get two and I could eat like ten. The bacon is smokey and salty. The scrambled eggs were also very good. We were both very pleased with the food. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate chip waffles and fruit. All in all it was a great experience. Just bring some patience to order and find a seat. I would definitely recommend a visit and I will be back.
Outstanding food. Had the Squawking Goat and it was top notch. We got there 45 minutes before closing so the biscuits weren’t as fresh as they could have been but it didn’t matter. Chicken was moist and crunchy, perfectly cooked and great flavor. The fried goat cheese stole the show but the chicken and pepper jelly showed up and carried their weight. Coffee was very good as well. Definitely coming back again.
