Babe's Doughnut
500 Greensboro Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL
Crema's Take
“Babe's is a beloved Tuscaloosa institution where freshly made pastries and bacon doughnuts pair perfectly with traditional coffee in an unpretentiously warm atmosphere that welcomes everyone from early risers to families lingering over breakfast. The staff's genuine kindness—the kind that stays with you long after you leave—makes this place feel less like a transaction and more like coming home, especially if you're a returning customer who remembers why you fell in love with it in the first place. Fair warning: some regulars have noticed the doughnuts aren't quite as consistently fresh as they once were, but when they hit, they're still the real deal.”

The food here has always been good; however, the doughnuts have dropped in quality as of late. I am not sure what happened, but they are not fresh tasting like they used to be. Maybe they do not make them fresh every day, not sure, but I do not recommend the doughnuts from here anymore unless they get back to making them like they used to.
Overall great place. Has lots of selections and great bacon doughnuts. The man there was so nice and he let us in when it was closing and he was leaving to go home and even gave us a free doughnut! 5 stars ofc
I had such a wonderful experience at Babe’s Donuts downtown. The pastries were incredibly fresh, warm, and clearly made with care (cinnamon rolls and chocolate covered donuts) 🍩😋. The staff was kind, responsive, and patient even during a busy morning, and the whole visit felt genuinely welcoming. You can tell this is a place where people take pride in what they do — everything looked amazing, and what we ordered was delicious. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re in Tuscaloosa and want a sweet treat made with heart.
I came in on a Saturday while I was in town visiting. I remember coming here frequently as a student, but I was not impressed by the quality of my donut. It was really dry which is not how I remembered them being. I was able to find a table inside and the cashier was very nice.
Stopped in on our way out of town. Don't have a picture of the waffle breakfast sandwich since I ate it already but look at these donuts. Customers and staff alike all so friendly and enjoying the food and good company. A must stop when you're in Tuscaloosa.
