Crema's Take

MI Grounds is a warm, family-centered café in Portage that shines as a gathering spot with its thoughtful touches like a dedicated play area for young kids and inviting decor that keeps both parents and remote workers coming back. The breakfast and brunch menu earns consistent praise for quality and value, though coffee quality seems to vary—some find it excellent while others report it tastes underdeveloped. With friendly staff, reliable wifi, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, this is the kind of place where you can settle in for hours whether you're meeting friends, working, or letting little ones burn off energy.

What to expect

Very nice decor, atmosphere and employee however, I got the medium roast coffee and it did not taste good. I had to throw it out. It tasted green like it was made with lettuce. I also had a cup of soup and it was pretty good.

Absolutely incredible food and service. The staff is very polite, and the food is the best breakfast/brunch around. Not expensive and very worth the trip if you were thinking about going.

This is a nice little cafe. The coffee and food is good, and the staff is friendly. Free wifi and a children's play area make this a pleasant place for working for a few hours. I had the chicken and goat cheese panini and it was delicious!
