Crema's Take

Nestled in Ketchum, Café Della is a chic yet genuinely welcoming spot that's earned its stellar reputation for house-made everything, from their legendary Della egg breakfast sandwich on perfectly buttery sourdough focaccia to buckwheat chocolate chip cookies that rival anything you'll find elsewhere. The space strikes that rare balance between upscale and chill, where the baristas craft both traditional and creative seasonal beverages with equal care, and locally-sourced ingredients shine in dishes like their exceptional Portobello mushroom dip sandwich. Cafe Della absolutely lives up to its reputation. We were told it was the best breakfast in town, and it’s true. The Della egg breakfast sandwich was outstanding. Everything tasted house-made and carefully prepared, with real attention to detail in both the ingredients and the execution. The sandwich was perfectly balanced as savory, rich, and lifted by the bright tang of pickled onions that tied the whole thing together. The Blue Magic butterfly pea tea was also delicious and a great complement to the meal. The space itself is just as appealing, comfortable, welcoming, and clearly a place where locals gather. It feels like a true community café rather than a tourist stop. Great food, great coffee, and a warm atmosphere. Exactly what you want in a ski town breakfast spot.

The Portobello Mushroom Dip Sandwich is seriously the best mushroom sandwich I’ve ever had. The Della sourdough focaccia was perfectly soft and buttery. The crispy mushrooms were rich and flavorful, the white cheddar added a nice sharpness, and the arugula gave it that fresh peppery kick. The roasted garlic aioli brought everything together in the best way. And the mushroom au jus? So good. Dipping the sandwich just takes it to another level.

This place has a good space, people are nice, and it takes advantage of being one of few upscale-feeling options in Hailey... and they sure make you pay for that. Portions are skimpy and everything I've ordered there is mid. I have a problem with anywhere that upcharges $1.50 for 4 ounces of plant based milk. Next time I'll just go to Ketchum.

We were driving from Stanley to Salt Lake and stopped here and I’m only writing this as a PLEA TO COME TO SALT LAKE. 🙏🏻 The buckwheat chocolate chip cookies are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The sourdough sandwiches were amazing, they had raw milk!!, and also had a fun selection of salt, chocolate, olive oil etc. There are also to go items. It looked like they used high quality flour from the flours they had for sale, but I didn’t ask if they used that or a more generic flour in their baked goods. Other fun things were garden fresh flowers for sale, and a large window into the back kitchen. Our kids loved the play kitchen and books 💛 I can’t wait to stop here again! Please open a Utah location. It would do so well. Similar to Redmond Farm restaurant.
