Crema's Take

Loose Cannon Cafe feels like discovering a sophisticated European hideaway in your own neighborhood, with the kind of welcoming energy that makes families, dogs, and solo coffee lovers equally at home. The husband-and-wife team behind this corner gem takes real pride in both their craft—expect excellent espresso and thoughtful specialty drinks like their red eye—and their food, with breakfast sandwiches and bowls that locals are already calling some of the best on the east side. Whether you're settling in for a slow morning with your toddler or meeting friends over a perfectly pulled shot, the vibe here strikes that rare balance of upscale and genuinely warm.

This place is great! We had a red eye, vanilla latte and two iced teas (jasmine and ginger something) Coffee is excellent- quality is insane! Excellent customer service- more than friendly! Tuna melt and BLT were very tasty! And can’t forget the baked goods! Ham and cheese croissant- just the way I like it-flaky and buttery good! The chocolate cookie was with a tinge of salt was delicious! Lastly the special hot chocolate for the grandson with sprinkles on top!! What makes it even more special is the little nook of children books! Family friendly for sure. Loved it and would definitely come back! Thank you!

Service, food, ambiance are all on point. The perfect spot for the area. Has great vibes, almost like an up to date and sophisticated European / new york cafe. The perfect spot for all occasions.

Really nice new coffee shop for our neighborhood. Great coffee and the breakfast sandwich was delicious! It’s also kid friendly or in our case, toddler friendly! Our 16month old got to walk around and flip through the books they had, really sweet touch to have for kids! It was nice getting to enjoy our breakfast and coffee while she was entertained, it’s rare that a coffee shop is kid friendly so it’s really appreciated! Well back for sure.

Great new locally-owned family coffee shop. Husband + wife team. Extremely welcoming to families and dogs. Food was excellent - breakfast bowl was the best I’ve had on the east side. Breakfast sandwich is the best I’ve had in the city. Great iced americano, great Marlowe.

Quite a stranger to the area so a chance to be around was to be well-utilized. This cute cafe on the corner was brand new yet successfully hosted the crowd for the weekend. Plus point for having sizable outdoor patio and dedicated parking space. Long line reaching the entrance on Saturday afternoon with almost full house but the turnaround was pretty speedy so it wasn't hard to get seats. They did serve some sandwiches for nibbles and I saw they used Jyan Isaac bread! I only went for their drinks and despite knowing their house signature was the Marlowe, I was trying to be more adventurous going for the cold brew with the iconic maple cream top. The coffee nailed the expectation with bold flavor and smooth after taste. They seemed to use Stumptown beans if I got it correctly. The cream top was nicely not overly heavy despite I wished bit stronger maple flavor.
