Crema's Take

Mango and Mint is a refreshingly unpretentious Alameda gem where Vietnamese home cooking meets genuine hospitality—you'll find four energetic ladies behind the counter who clearly pour care into every dish, from towering sandwiches to silky avocado smoothies. The late-opening hours and casual vibe make it perfect for a weekday dinner run or lazy Sunday afternoon, where surprisingly generous portions and quality ingredients feel like a secret that's somehow still affordable.

This is my go-to spot for a quick easy take out weekday dinner. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. You can really taste the care they put into each dish. I always appreciate the fresh quality side veggies in the rice plates. It’s local, fast, casual, and always reliable — exactly what you want when you need a great meal without the fuss. To mango & mint - keep making great quality food - don’t change a thing. Highly recommend

From the outside I was unsure about this place. Looked too bougie and fancy to be legit. But the moment I walked in, I saw and heard 4 Vietnamese ladies behind the counter all shouting at each other in Vietnamese, and then saw all the printed-out signed taped everywhere advertising additional menu items, and it was then that I knew that it was actually going to be *very* legit. I was not wrong. I ordered the char siu banh mi and it was excellent. It was also the size of a large burrito. The char siu was awesome and the veggie-to-meat ratio was perfect. My only small gripe was that the roll was not quite as crusty as I prefer, but that's a minor thing overall. I do a delivery route on Alameda every Friday, so I will *definitely* be back. Probably try the pork vermicelli bowl next time, I saw them preparing some while I was waiting and they looked fantastic.

Good service and tasty food! The sandwiches are big and we love the avocado smoothie. It’s worth it to visit Alameda to eat here!

We tried Mango and Mint in Alameda for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The portion size was amazing for the price huge and definitely worth it, especially I love veggies! I ordered the grilled lemongrass pork chop with rice, and it was flavorful. Few seating capacity but that is totally fine since it it kinda quick service set-up. The Thai milk tea was just how I like it rich with tea flavor, not overly sweet. We also had the pineapple coconut smoothie, and you could really taste the mint and kale refreshing and fun! Service was great & the staff was friendly, and the menu is simple, with plenty of drink options. Overall, it’s such a wonderful local find a true underrated spot in Alameda. I just hope the serving sizes stay consistent because everything we ordered tasted great. We’ll definitely be back!
