Crema's Take
“Tucked into Georgetown, this intimate French patisserie wins hearts with its exceptional custom cakes and artisanal pastries that locals struggle to find elsewhere—the kind of place where the staff remembers your order and treats special occasions with genuine care. The slow-paced, convivial atmosphere makes it perfect for lingering over coffee and a delicate pastry, whether you're meeting a friend or celebrating a milestone with a showstopping custom creation.”

Patisserie Poupon – A Must-Visit Georgetown Bakery 🍰 Patisserie Poupon has been on my list for a while and for good reason. They offer mini versions of their pastries and cakes that are almost too cute to eat but you will want to. I had my eye on the passion fruit chocolate mini mousse cake and the mango pineapple mini cake. Both were tropical, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Located on Wisconsin Avenue in upper Georgetown, the cafe has indoor seating, an upstairs area, and outdoor spots when the weather is nice. I stopped by a little after lunch on a Thursday. While the display case still had plenty of options, it is clear that first thing in the morning is best if you want the full menu selection. It is not just desserts. Their sandwiches and salads are equally tempting. If you are celebrating Mardi Gras, their king cake with two crowns comes with instructions to enjoy it with flair 🎭. Whether you are looking for French pastries that taste as beautiful as they look or a spot to pick up a sweet treat in Georgetown, Patisserie Poupon is worth a visit.
If you ever have the chance to visit this place, do it! I placed an order for a cake for my sister’s birthday, that I couldn’t find at any other pastry shops in the area, and this place had it! Not only was it beautifully made, it was quite possibly the best dessert that we ever tasted! You can tell that it was made with quality ingredients, by an experienced pastry chef. Thank you all for helping make her day extra special!
Such a cute little French patisserie! I will add that though I, too, am a Poupon, I’m not aware of any connection, so this is an unbiased review. I only went because the patisserie shares my last name (how could I not), but I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the French pastry, and particularly the presence of Bretagne specialities. I had a passion fruit mousse while I was there, and it was so delicious and light. I took home some pastries that I can’t wait to share with my husband!
Been coming to Georgetown for years and never knew this place existed until the Georgetown Fall Market. I’m so glad I stopped by the pastries are really good! I’ll definitely be coming back!
The best service over the phone, and the cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! I highly recommend Patisserie Poupon for your special events. You will be taken care of with utmost care, and professionalism.
