Crema's Take

Tucked into the back of this legendary independent bookstore on Connecticut Avenue, the coffee shop creates an unhurried sanctuary where the aroma of quality coffee mingles with the quiet rustle of pages turning around you. Their traditional drinks and pastries pair perfectly with the bookstore's carefully curated selection, making this less a coffee stop and more an invitation to settle in for hours of reading, meeting friends, or simply existing among other seekers of knowledge and good writing.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu. Wifi.

The sort of place you could spend all day in! Parking isn't ideal (busy road, metered), but there were tons of people in the store, so I think they figured out how to manage. So many different books, events, and trinkets available. Some of the aisles are extremely close…
