Mama Koko's
100 E 23rd St, Baltimore, MD
Crema's Take
“Mama Koko's feels like a cultural gathering space disguised as a coffee shop, blending specialty coffees and creative drinks with Caribbean and African fusion cuisine in a warm, vibrant Baltimore setting. The craftsmanship behind their drinks is genuinely exceptional—think inventive creations like eggnog lattes and unique seasonal specials—though it's worth knowing that service can be inconsistent, with staff occasionally missing the mark on communication. If you catch them on a good day, you'll understand why regulars describe walking in as coming home to a true neighborhood "vibe."”

2/8/2026 - No communication amongst employees. I completed ordering our items to be told that they couldn't make my egg nog latte, which was the only reason why I was there. Rum Butter Buffalo Wings ($13) - They looked scrumptious, but had the flavor of absolutely nothing at all. There were only 6 served....yup for $13. Sriracha Caesar Salad Warm - Simply ok Of course I never received Spiked Egg Nog Latte
I love this place, the food is delicious. The atmosphere is cozy. The coffee bar drinks are unique. The only drawback is the customer service is hit or miss. Staff can be a bit aloof. However, I still don’t mind the over an hour drive to sit and hang out here. This is a beautiful gem 💎 in Baltimore. Check it out. Mama KoKo, is a really nice vibe.
Went on Saturday. A lot of beautiful people with a beautiful atmosphere. I had a solid time. The drinks are crazy good. The craftsmanship is superior.
Stepping into Mama Koko's is like coming home. As a tenant in the building, I can say with confidence that this place is a true "vibe." It’s a remarkable convergence of coffee, culture, and cocktails, where every moment is a liquid history lesson. The experience goes beyond simple service; it's a testament to the warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like an "elevated family member." They have masterfully honored the global African diaspora through their food, art, and music, transforming a historic late 1800s building into a living, breathing community. It's a place where they've created "new traditions with each raised glass" and where "conversations bloom with each carefully crafted cup." Come for the exceptional drinks and food, but stay for the soul-nourishing sense of belonging. This isn't just a place to visit; it’s a space where community, culture, and connection thrive.
Great place with exceptional cocktails. The spot is a great addition to the Baltimore area, serving craft cocktails, and specialty coffees. Their menu of Caribbean and African fusion dishes are quite tasty. I love how this place also hosts different events monthly and attracts an older crowd. Food and beverages are of high quality.
