Cold Brook Cafe

Crema's Take

This family-run North Providence gem earns its stellar reputation by treating coffee and food with genuine care—you'll find thoughtfully made specialty drinks like their flavored coffees and sparkling refreshers alongside comfort food classics like grilled cheese and tomato soup that actually taste homemade. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive owners have clearly cultivated a space where regulars become loyal friends, though fair warning: if you're expecting third-wave precision in a paper cup, you might want to manage your expectations on the cappuccino execution. It's the kind of place that feels like a neighborhood anchor, perfect for lingering over breakfast or a leisurely coffee with plenty of seating and non-dairy milk options to boot.

Although our waitress was absolutely delightful, I was 100% disappointed with my large cappuccino thrown in a paper cup with a cap and my breakfast sandwich tasted like Dunkin donuts. I had hoped for a little artisan Cafe by the atmosphere but instead got mediocre fast food for a much higher price.

This place is truly the best! I went for the first time and will be visiting regularly now. Great food and service and owners really care about quality and atmosphere; making sure everyone is taken care of and happy. It’s so welcoming when you walk in and I highly suggest you eat inside instead of takeout because it’s so cozy inside. You can bring a book or magazines and enjoy coffee or a baked good or one of their bagel sandwiches (which is what I had). You can tell there are a lot of regulars who come in which is great and says a lot about the business. I had the privilege of meeting the owners who are the nicest people and you can tell they are so proud of this place and what hard workers they are. I’m telling everyone about it ❣️

I love the flavored coffee here, and they have non dairy milk options. Their food is good as well. I like the grilled cheese and tomato soup the best. I recently tried their sparkling refresher and chagaccino, and both were great. I haven't ordered anything here that I didn't like. The place itself is clean and cozy, and everyone is always friendly.

Finally stopped here for breakfast, have always passed by and said well maybe next time. Well I'm definitely glad I did, so many choices they had. I ended up getting the breakfast croissant with bacon which was really delicious and before I left I had seen the cinnamon roll and got that to go. Was really busy but it went fast. Will have to come back for lunch sometime.

What a great little detour on my drive through. Lovely family-run cafe with plenty of seating...warm and welcoming. I got the egg special sandwich with avocado and goat cheese in an English muffin. Made to order, it was perfect and delicious. Lots of muffins, cookies, and seasonal pumpkin and banana bread by the slice. Soups and sandwiches too!
