Homesick Bagels

I come from a bagel snob family and was visiting some friends in Tampa. I have to get bagels when visiting different places so decided to try here. The photos looked good so I had high expectations and was not disappointed. These bagels are very fresh, you can even see them being made during the day, I was there around 12:30. The crust has a nice hardness and the inside had a nice chewy inside. We only waited about 5 minutes after ordering to get our food. There is no indoor seating so it’s more of a counter but there are some tables outside. After I was done eating the smoked salmon sandwich on a sesame, I went to tell staff how much I enjoyed it. I spoke with presumably the owner/bagel maker and he spoke about the process and how they don’t cut corners. I’ll definitely be back again when visiting Tampa and highly recommend.

Spoke with the crew afterwards because it was just so impressive. They have only been open for a month, but I already know this is going to be one busy store once word gets around. I had their smoked salmon sandwhich on a jalapeño asiago with scallion cream cheese. The bagel was fresh and warm, a lovely crunch upon first bite and very chewy. The flavor was just exceptional. The owner also said their entire process is traditional save for rolling. Believe me, you can tell just how seriously they work to make good bagels. Only advice I can give is to include red onion with the sandwich as an option. Atmosphere was a 4 only because their is no inside seating. I know for a fact once this place explodes in popularity, parking and seating might be a whole ordeal. Weather was very pleasant today, but I would imagine once summer rolls around it might be tough to enjoy them sitting outside. Regardless, do not second guess because of low reviews. This place has only been open a month. Seriously great bagels.

So delicious! I’m pretty particular about breakfast and bagels and this place was fab. Paul, one of the partners, was on site and super helpful and positive. The girl working the counter was kind. The BAGEL?! Amazing. So glad this place opened and that they stay about a little later than most spots.

Operations and cashier training neeeeed to be buttoned up, as well as job responsibilities. I came in here on a Friday at 10:40am with very high hopes for an everything bagel. In a span of 14 mins I watched 2 people return with incorrect orders, 2 girls impatiently waiting for their orders, 1 girl order a bagel after me and leave before me?!, and a whole lot of content shooting (Nothing against shooting content for socials but as a customer I expect order accuracy and timeliness to come first). I left with a feeling of distrust about the experience and they actually messed up my order too.. gave 2 bagels after ordering only 1?! But I’ll take the addl bagel lol. Staff all were very nice and apologetic to customers but there were a lot of mistakes witnessed. It’s a super cute place and I enjoyed my bagel. There just are issues that need to be addressed. Can’t imagine how it is on a busy weekend.
