Crema's Take

This spacious Chicago spot nails the cozy-yet-productive vibe with tons of natural light and reliable wifi, making it equally suited for lingering conversations or getting work done. Their creative signature drinks like the banana mocha latte show real ambition beyond the standard menu, and the laid-back crew keeps things feeling genuinely welcoming despite the occasional chatty regular. It's the kind of place that invites you to slow down without the pretension—clean, friendly, and built for people who want their coffee experience to feel effortless.

Laid-back and cozy coffee shop with a nice selection of hot and cold offerings. Very spacious with lots of natural light. Friendly staff. I tried the banana mocha latte (iced) and loved it!

Clean place, employees all great. Unfortunately there is a regular there who will listen to her cell on speaker for hours, loud enough for the entire store to hear. She's an older lady so I'm sure it's because of a hearing issue but it's not pleasant if you're trying to concentrate.

Cool vibes when I was first invited this location a few weeks ago. Nice ambience. The interior designer did a great job (took pictures, but they're on my company phone). Smooth wifi connection. Clean restrooms. Friendly staff; Lady behind the counter was full of smiles. Had a tasty Matcha, mocha frappe, bought a Danish and some banana nut oatmeal. Large variety of teas and coffee. Had a tasty kiwi pear ice tea on another day I visited. Safe convenient location that's near one of my offices. The prices are no different than most coffee shops from my pov. No big deal for me honestly. Esp since I'm aware that Cheap coffee shops, esp around the Loop area, are rare. Reading some of these comments are interesting. People are entitled to their opinions, but some of the complaints are hilarious and fishy; esp after only 1 visit. I wouldn't be shocked if some are giving low ratings out of jealousy or anger of it being owned by a poc. Im European myself (British) and I could care less. People that are happy in life, travel and meet new people from many cultures, we don't fixate on those type of things Anyways. Will visit again. Thanks & Good Day!

I live very close to this location so I try to give it a chance everytime, but after 3 times coming here, it’s been a lackluster experience. I am a huge matcha drinker and i love trying different matchas across the city. The hot matcha i got delivered from here this morning was disgusting. It was pure milk and the color was absolutely unbelievably pale. Matcha is not supposed to be almost white. It’s supposed to be a very tree green color. I would suggest the manager here look into getting another kind of matcha altogether or properly training the staff on what matcha is supposed to look and taste like. As soon as I took it out the bag i could tell it wasnt going to taste good because it looked like 90% milk. It was awful i had to throw it in the sink and order another matcha from Stan’s. they knew the assignment. I most likely won’t be coming back here unless this changes because it seems their priority is maybe coffee? Which is fine but most coffee shops these days try to succeed at most popular drinks like matcha, chai , etc. I feel very validated to know a few reviews down someone had the same experience with the matcha here!

Everything about this place is bad. Sterile, corporate, soulless. Food is stale and flavorless, coffee is over-roasted, number code on the bathroom PLUS the light turns itself off after only a few seconds, making it clear that they don't want you here. No wifi, no local posters for theatre or a job board or anything that originated from a human being. They just want your money, and don't offer any positive experience in exchange. Worst coffee shop in the neighborhood. Definitely skip. EDIT: Apparently there is wifi, if you get a receipt. Except I wasn't offered a receipt. Nice little trick there. Does that make you feel good? Getting one over on the customers?
