Crema's Take
“I appreciate your interest, but I'm unable to write an accurate summary of this coffee shop. The reviews provided are for The Barnes San Francisco, a Tapestry Collection hotel, rather than a coffee shop called Tapestry. To give you the warm, specific description this deserves, I'd need actual coffee shop reviews that speak to the quality of their drinks, the atmosphere, and what makes their specialty offerings unique.”

This is the worst Tapestry Collection Hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The rooms are tiny, poorly maintained, with little to no air conditioning. The worst feature of room 410 was the eclectic collection of nail clippings a previous occupant left. These clipping were not in the bathroom - they stayed on the bedroom carpet for 4 consecutive nights! The front desk were told about these numerous times and nothing was done to remove them. The hotel rooms felt cheap and the noise intrusion from outside added to my low expectations. Hilton should definitely remove this hotel from their portfolio. Avoid if at all possible.
I recently stayed at The Barnes San Francisco, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and had an amazing experience. The hotel has a perfect blend of classic San Francisco charm and modern comfort, and its location makes it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. It’s right in the heart of downtown and close to the famous San Francisco Cable Car System, which made getting around the city easy and fun. Popular spots like Union Square and Chinatown are just a short walk away. The rooms were clean, stylish, and very comfortable. After long days walking around San Francisco, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. Everything felt well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. What truly made the stay exceptional was the staff. Valeria, Frankie, and Armarian were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure everything during my stay was perfect. Their professionalism and kindness really made the experience memorable and showed how much the hotel cares about its guests. Overall, I highly recommend The Barnes San Francisco, Tapestry Collection by Hilton if you’re visiting San Francisco. Great location, beautiful rooms, and an incredible team—especially Valeria, Frankie, and Armarian. I would definitely stay here again! 😊
We stayed at the Barnes Dec 29-Jan 1. It was a lovely time to be in San Francisco, a city we visit often. The location was perfect. But beyond that we have very little positive things to say about this hotel. 1- The TV did not work. The hotel send someone to fix it and that was great and we also asked how to regulate the heat. It was cold! Someone tinkered with it, but we never did figure it out. Most is the time we’re either freezing or too hot. Breakfast was mediocre and not worth the $$. Would it stay here again.
I travel often for work and this was the most disappointing and inconvenienced hotel stay ever. 12 nights from 9.21 - 10.3. I previously selected room 733. It was not ready but was told it was one of the better rooms so I decided to wait instead of taking another room. One hanging globe light above bed did not work. Maintenance guy came and jimmy rigged the wire. There was dried up paint all around the light and I wiped it off with rubbing alcohol. There was a HUGE sunken dip in the mattress. Tried to sleep on other side but felt I was leaning towards the dip. The shower curtain barely reached the tub and water ended up on the floor every time. The frig made loud noises and wasn't keeping my food cold. Maintenance guy unplugged and plugged back in and tested it. He ended up bringing me a new frig. I had already unpacked everything and didn't feel like re-packing. Long work days and I was tired. After a week the metal panel at bottom of door got loose and I had to force the door open and shut. I finally requested a new room and told front desk the door needs to be fixed and the mattress is really bad. New room was really small but it was bright inside with a larger frig that was nice and cold. Shower curtain situation was good. In the middle of the night I tried to turn the air and ceiling fan on. Neither of the controls on the wall was working. Front desk said the controls need to be reset but I didn't want to wait for maintenance since I had to be up at 4am. The hair dryer handle coating was gross and sticky and while using it it broke! It's a historic building that comes with a certain charm that you do not get at newer hotels and I can appreciate that. The smell of an old building, small slow moving elevator, uneven floors in the rooms, old window and door framing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I did enjoy going to the gym and walking down the stairs every morning. For as long as I stayed I should have changed hotels in the beginning but I didn't. I am surprised that this is part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection.
The hotel is beautiful art/decoration wise, but the room we got was smaller than, and the quality of a motel 6 or a casino, just smoke-free. I understand its an OLD building in the center of San Fransisco, but the price is not worth what I would expect out of a HILTON brand hotel, even for its location. Especially when, after a long day of driving, we all tried to take showers and the first person to try couldn't get ANY hot water. Not even lukewarm. Had to go to the desk and learn "the trick" to get it to work, so we tried, and it almost got warm, until we started the showerhead. It was a bad shower. And the shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles they supplied broke when trying to use them. There's no parking, no pool, and rooms start at almost $200 a night. I've gotten full suites that were WAY more luxurious in the center of town for cheaper through Hilton. This hotel doesn't deserve to be apart of the Hilton name in my opinion. Very dissatisfied with our experience. Canceling my last 2 nights here and driving 20 minutes away to a REAL HILTON!
