Pettit’s Pastry

Mediocre at best. We are from about 4 hours away and found this as a staple for Omaha supposedly. What we got for donuts was ok but were unimpressed with the service. The gal asked immediately how many we were getting when we answered that we weren't sure, explaining it was our first time and to bear with us. She wasn't friendly at all and after I asked for my first one, she again immediately asked how many we were getting. We very much felt like an inconvenience that we were in there and didn't buy nearly as much as we thought about with her being so pushy about how many we were buying. Didn't sit down either to eat as it was very awkward.

I was staying at the townplace suites and walked to this intersection where I saw this donut shop. If you're not getting some donuts here what are you doing? They were delicious 😋 I can see why they were award winning. They were so good I didnt share and just tasted them all 🙂

Update: April reached out and spoke with my husband. She apologized and explained how everything went. She admitted she wouldn’t have given us the cake on the day of pickup if she was there due to the defects. She offered us a $100 refund which wasn’t the full refund I requested nonetheless it’s appreciated. Thank you. I updated the stars for the good customer service and quick response in attempt to resolve the issue. I will find a different way to make it up to my daughter. Pettit’s used to be good before moving to this location. I recently ordered a cake for my daughter’s 21st birthday. She picked it up today (12/6/2025) and it look disastrous. We showed them a sample of a pillow cake I saved from Google and the one they did for me 7 years ago( I really liked). April confirmed they could recreate it however, the person who did my cake 7years ago was no longer employed with them. I paid $182 for a miserable cake that I know will taste as bad as it looks. What’s wrong with saying “no” to something you know you CAN’T do? This is cheating people. I wish I can get my money back. Then, they gave us a dozen donuts to compensate for their ridiculous work. The donuts look nasty as well. I rather go to Winchells for my donuts. My daughter and I are beyond disappointed. We will never order cake from you guys again. Please go elsewhere to order your cake. Pettit IS NOT THE PLACE. They don’t even deserve a star.

April is simply AMAZING! I planned a cookie decorating party for my daughter and her friends and called just so see if I would prefer to buy what was needed or make/bake it all myself. April took my ideas and brought them to life by doing individual boxes for each girl! It was the attention to detail that touched me the most. The kids were excited and blown away! The suggestions she provided at pick up, seriously saved me a lot!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟📢 Pettit’s Pastry is an absolute gem! Every visit comes with friendly, welcoming service that makes you feel like a regular. Their Oreo doughnuts are out of this world—easily the best doughnuts I’ve had anywhere in the Midwest. They always have something fun going on with their seasonal cookies and doughnuts, and their selection of cakes is just as impressive. This place is a true Omaha staple, and it’s no surprise why. If you’re anywhere near 311 N 114th St, do yourself a favor and stop in—you won’t regret it!
