Old Town Monrovia

Library Park, Arcadia, CA

Crema's Take

Nestled in a quieter, more intimate corner of the San Gabriel Valley, this Old Town Monrovia spot offers a genuinely peaceful escape where locals actually strike up conversations and the pace feels intentional rather than rushed. The outdoor seating invites you to linger over traditional coffee drinks while soaking in mountain views and that distinctive small-town charm, and it's refreshingly dog-friendly with thoughtful amenities like poop bag dispensers. It's the kind of place where families, friends, and four-legged companions naturally gather to slow down—no pretension, just a community that knows how to create space for connection.

Great little shopping and nightlife area, smaller and quieter than Old Town Pasadena. Dogs on leash allowed, poop bag dispensers also available. Many of the restaurants allow dogs in the outdoor patio areas.

We walked through Old Town after dinner. Very peaceful and relaxing. The people were nice, say hello when we walked by or started up conversations. We sat in the park for a bit. They have plenty of benches to sit and shaded areas and a beautiful park.

This beautiful city has a peaceful, grounded vibe that makes it easy to slow down and breathe. The mountains, the sunsets, and the nearby trails help me reset and reconnect. People here are kind, the community feels real, and there's beauty in the everyday.

Love this old town, it has its own charm. There are so many things to do in the area, like shopping in the one of a kind boutiques and vintage shops, having a quiet moment at the public library, picnicking at the parks, there’s even a playground behind the library for kiddos to play. Plus, a bunch of good restaurants for adults to enjoy also (Like sushi, dine-in cinema, coffee shops, boba shops, cocktail bars, handmade ice cream, Mexican food, and so many more) Parking is plenty and easy, and the view is amazing too. It is just hard not to fall in love with this unique place. Highly recommend. #bb8
