Crema's Take
“Tucked into the vibrant Cherokee Street neighborhood, this spot brings a refreshing dose of creativity to St. Louis's coffee scene with inventive flavor combinations like their coconut mocha that manages to be indulgent without being cloying. The welcoming, laid-back atmosphere pairs perfectly with their excellent food offerings—including surprisingly authentic breakfast tacos—making it an ideal place to linger with friends or settle in with your laptop for a few hours.”

Tough to find breakfast tacos outside of Texas, but this is your place in the midwest. Cherokee St is my favorite place to stroll around supporting the small businesses. The Cherokee district is full of business owners that care about their community and customers, and Good Strangers is no exception. This is an enjoyable place to just slow down life and have a coffee and breakfast. Good tables and space for working/studying as well
Edit: Wow, love the passive-aggressive reply! I have a totally different impression of this business now! Remember kids, if you have a bad experience with a business, don't share honestly about it on a review site so others can take it into consideration. Keep it secret so customers don't know! Anyway, my original review, which I have in fact discussed with the owner, is below. 🤦🏼 The espresso was not very good at all the day I visited. It had an oily surface and a watery, almost citrus taste. (I'd ordered an Americano--just espresso and water.) The barista asked, "Is it okay if I make that to go?" I was like, "...No? I thought I'd wait out the rain here." So I didn't feel particularly welcome. My friend Pat had written a glowing review, and another friend had said how good their espresso was when she visited, so I'd hoped to feel cozy and welcomed into the space. I did absolutely love the decor. The paint job alone is gorgeous, and it was a picturesque spot to watch a storm roll through. But I wouldn't return if that's the coffee and service I can expect.
Such a fabulous little coffee shop. They have a great variety and amount of seating, their drinks are DELICIOUS and pretty unique. Their food is also fabulous. It’s a great spot to hangout with friends, get some work done, or read/do hobby work. I definitely will come back :)
Very chill and friendly coffee and limited food spot. They have really interesting flavors for their coffees and lattes. I tried the coconut mocha, which was good, not too sweet like a regular mocha. Other flavors include rose, greek, and taziki. There are more I do not remember. Did not try the tacos, but that is their specialty. There is plenty of room to just chill out.
Good Strangers on Cherokee is exactly what this neighborhood needed. It’s such a cute and chill spot perfect for posting up with your laptop or just hanging out for a while. They’re serving up Baked and Boiled Bagels (yes, please!) and 4th City BBQ Tacos, which is a combo I didn’t know I needed but now fully support. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and you can tell they care about being a part of the local scene. If you’re into great coffee and a very welcoming space to hang or get some work done, this place is it.
