Crema's Take

Doomsday Coffee strikes that rare balance between energetic collaboration hub and peaceful work sanctuary, with a calm yet welcoming atmosphere that keeps regulars coming back for seasonal specials like their beloved Iced Banana Split Latte. Their espresso-focused menu showcases pour overs and cold brew crafted with care, paired with a solid breakfast and pastry selection that makes this Springdale spot feel like a genuine gathering place rather than just another caffeine stop.

When we walked in, three employees stared at us without greeting us, which immediately felt off-putting. The person taking our order seemed uncomfortable and confused. We asked for a receipt so we could split the charges, and were told it would be texted to us, but no one ever asked for a phone number. When I questioned that, I was told it would send automatically if I had paid with the same card before, which it did not. We ordered breakfast quesadillas and requested sour cream inside them (and were fine paying extra), but it was not included. This has happened on previous visits as well. We had to go back and ask for it again. We also ordered two iced matchas and only received one. At that point we were already running late, so they refunded the drink instead. Once we sat down to eat, one of the breakfast items was severely overcooked—burned on the outside and dry inside. We genuinely like this place and want to keep coming back, but today’s experience pushed us away. The biggest issue wasn’t the food, it was the lack of attentiveness and basic customer service and not following our orders.

*note: this is a review does not include a food review as I did not try the food* Doomsday coffee has been around in both Fayetteville and in Siloam Springs. The Siloam Springs shop recently moved to Springdale. That is this coffee shop. They are the third owners in this location after two businesses failed (one 5-star restaurant; one coffee shop). As for the ambiance, it's not very exciting. Not very inviting. Not very comfortable. I sat in the chairs and booths and they are not very comfortable for me. The place has a end-of-the-world vibe, but it's not very aesthetically pleasing. The coffee is mediocre. Not any better than Starbucks or McDonald's. They do have their own roastery upstairs. However, the black coffee that I had was average. Nothing exciting. Nothing even close to better local competitors like Onyx or Airship coffee. The one upside is the customer service. The gal who attended to me was friendly and when they were out of what I ordered (which happened to be the most basic thing .... Drip coffee), she suggested an alternative. I also saw her interacting and helping with other people in a friendly way. This place also has roasted coffee beans to buy and some merch. Overall, it's not a place that I would return to. But I could see how some people might want to have a meeting there. However, the coffee was not great. So if I were to get coffee, I would get it less expensive somewhere else.

Doomsday coffee is fantastic! I get my haircut at a nearby salon, so I decided to stop in and it was well worth the visit. Wasn't too overall busy on Saturday morning and there was plenty of seating. I had one of their Halloween themed drinks the Iced Frankenstein Matcha and would recommend it. I also had a bite to eat and had the breakfast tacos and they were delicious!

Wow. When you first walked in, it’s an easy going calm yet energetic atmosphere, where you can have a great collaborative meeting or work in peace as needed. The employees are kind and welcoming, helpful in making suggestions while giving prompt service. The kind lady at the front recommended the breakfast tacos - at first i was hesitant because i wasn’t even hungry. The description of the tacos sounded great, but i was still hesitant because what coffee roaster is going to have the best tacos in town, right?? But let me tell you, these are the best breakfast tacos in NW Arkansas! I will challenge anyone on this. The tortillas were lightly golden crispy yet softish to the bite, delectable!! Also, NO SKIMP, these things were loaded to the brim with fluffy golden yellow scrambled eggs, sour cream drizzle, garnished with green onion and excellent salsa on the side. They had to be two pounders… i will definitely be back. The coffee was EXCELLENT too, but i felt that goes without saying.

Doomsday in Springdale is a hidden gem. It is quite relaxing and calm in there, but I generally go in the morning. I get the 20oz. Iced Banana split latte while they have it (seasonal menu) and I definitely taste all the banana split flavors. The nachos are delicious (just $10)! I got mine with the jalapeño sausage just to do something different and it was so good. I’m pretty sure the chips are homemade along with the salsa. I do prefer coffee shops with hot food and not just pastries, and this place has it.
